Larssn and Hackett are listed on Capgeek and nhl numbers on the roster taking cap space. They are playing in rochester.
Why do they count against the cap ? - cabin
Probably just an error. From what I recall, they were initially put on NHL roster when the trade happened, never moved down. I know Larsson was called up for the Wild.

Mix in players like Ott, Larsson, Kaleta who play bigger than they are and we should be a pretty physical team with some size down the middle - sbroads24

I don't like that McNabb is our only "tough" young defenseman
I'd like to see another guy or two that is a banger along the boards and can clear the crease
But up front, I am encouraged to see we are drafting tough guys that also have the skill to be at least top9 guys if not better...
For a while now, seems like most of our toughness has been 4th liners, and that doesn't really help all tht much when guys like Crosby take the ice

The way it looks now, I think the best we can realistically hope for is the 4th pick
Carolina is currently in that spot w 34pts & 1 game in hand
Calgary & Florida also have a game in hand, but only have 32pts
And Colorado only has 31pts
So it's looking like our best bet, would be to trade Miller and Vanek, get TWO more 1sts in this draft...
That would give us more ammo to trade up if we don't win the "lottery"

If he trades Miller & Vanek for prospects & picks like he did w Pominville, then he's prob been told he'll be kept around for a while to "re-build"
If he tries to get NHL talent & add free agents,
Then we can assume he's been told he needs to make the playoffs NOW, and that his job is prob on the line

They wont be adding players and FA's to try to win now. They are committed to a rebuild through prospects and the draft.
