If you are asking for what d-man I would trade the 1st rounder for? Weber, and Weber alone. I dont think any other well rounded d-man will be close to available, that doesnt have real questions to their game.

Unfortunately while true it's not that simple. Too much "information" out there being presented as if it was "data". Meaning, journalistic sources and their masters not only 'scrub' what data to present, they then 'massage' the data to present it to more favorably represent their pre-conceived position on the issue. Sorry for the over simplistic version, but it's close.

no one's saying the team doesn't deserve criticism. but criticism and tabloid bs aren't the same thing. as fans of the team, we have just as much of a right to criticize the poopty coverage our media outlets offer us as we do to criticize the play on the ice

we def have a scoring problem, but i want to build from the d out. i'm ok drafting a forward who is ready now if we need to trade a guy like b schenn to get a dman. i would def concentrate on drafting dmen from the 2nd rnd on as long as it's not a reach.

I have no problem criticizing what they write. What I do have a problem is using them as an excuse for this team being disfunctional (not picking out anyone specifically). The media doesnt turn pucks over, give up breakaways, take penalties, etc.

Most cities go through the same crap with the media. Plenty of other big markets that deal with this all the time.

Flyers will have to give up a ton if they want Kane. poopterpeg realises they have trouble attracting free agents and will make teams overpay for talent.

I'd have minimal interest in Kane myself. Too much drama, a lot of which isn't posted on here but if it goes around in Winnipeg, I cant imagine what the Philly media will do.

If the Flyers want a scoring winger for Giroux, they should draft one imo. I wouldnt go that route, I'd spend all assets on improving the D core and signing forwards in FA.

Vanek isn't soft by any means. Probably a little overpaid due to the Offer Sheet that Edmonton signed him to. He's a real strong player.
