Are we talking about the 1st game where the Diepitro made an ass of himself and got one punched or the 2nd game where Martin SUCKER punched Talbot and Gillies boarded Tangradi then acted tough?
- lloyd095

When he challenged Talbot to a fight before the drop of the puck and Talbot accepted and then turtled after the first punch? The one where Martin could've kept pummeling him but stopped with not a ref in sight? You talking about the same game? You know the one where you team got smeared all over the ice and lost 9-2? Gimme a break, are you that whiney? If you knew anything about Martin whatsoever this would'nt even be a conversation right now, guy is one of the most respectful players in the league. Wah Wah Wah Wah, very consistent with you guys. Does'nt it get boring after a while?

Exactly. That stat basically shows that the Lightning don't have a drastically altered record whether or not Stamkos produced. On the other side, Ovechkin's production is directly linked to their record. That's the definition of "most valuable to his team" where your play directly affects your team's ability to win.

Also, Toews is a great player, but not a Hart candidate.

maybe you should watch a hawks game sometime, and us hawk fans remember last year when he was out and what our record was

Obviously I am because he's light years away from those guys!!! I wonder how many players won the Hart trophy as a minus 5. This was yesterdays argument I would like to find a new one today but pretty sure if you put a poll up and asked non fans of the Isles, Oilers, and Flyers who you would rather have the results might kill you. Maybe not Kadri though he's coming on.

First of all, last year has nothing to do with this year, as the Hawks are playing a bit differently right now.

Secondly, I do watch the Hawks every single time I can, as they're a fun team to watch. Toews is an incredible hockey player, and is one of the best captains in the NHL, if not THE best (I'm partial to Weber and Brown).

That said, I just don't see it this year. Does he have a more direct effect on his team than a player like Ovechkin? Heck, does he have more of an effect than Kane or Keith? Again, he's a tremendous player, but I think there are several others in the NHL who have a more direct impact on their team than him.

On a side note, how many times this year have you tuned in exclusively to watch the Caps (Ovechkin) and Ducks (Getzlaf) play?

lol you don't watch the isles do you. this is a stupid statement

fact is the opposing team is more likely to score when he is on the ice than the Ils are, and they are still probably going to miss the playoffs, so really, how valuable is he?

The answer is yes, by a wide margin.

Like I said to others on here enjoy that game. It was 2 years ago and my team went right back to having zero respect for yours. That was your Stanley Cup and that just goes to show how bad it's been for a long time. The Pens are in position for another chance at being champions and you guys are highly sensitive because I said that a minus player who's team might not make the playoffs shouldn't win the Hart.

I would just like to be the first to point out that Eklund wrote a whole paragraph about how Niemi might be the Western MVP, then makes a poll of like 20 players and does not include him... That is all.
