Nothing.

You don't need a huge amp.. you don't have a band.. so I'd go with a 700$ range for the guitar and 300$ range for a small amp.

Go used... if you want a better quality guitar.... else new for that price.. you might end up changing it soon.

I'd go with this for an amp. 30 watts should be enough for now... it's got a great range of sounds.

Guitars: try them... it it feels good... buy it.

Epiphone?
- AGalchenyuk27

There are some decent Epiphones out there.. but most of the time... the hardware is cheap... so they fall out of tune...

for 600-800$ you can get solid guitars used.

What's good about used is that the wood had it's time to really dry... so you end up trying a guitar that won't really change 5 years from now..

New "cheap" guitars can end up being either great or horrible down the road because the wood still hasn't had enough time to dry and work around the tensions (sp).

If you can find Godin SG without the stupid stuff ( tremolo, EQs and other useless sh!t) I would opt for that.

I love the Japanese guitars: Ibanez, Washburns.

What kind of music do you wanna play ?

I have the Spider III 150 watts for a practice amp. It's awesome.

Too bad they don't make those with tubes.

And yes, great for the price.
