The history channel seems to be at it again. First it's ancient aliens and now it's the French colluding with the Germans while the French Canadian try to surrender Canada to the Hun.

I don't know if you ever read some Lewis Mumford but it is fascinating. - Dgrdnr
Military historian by trade (technically), my last papers were on Wellington as the Guardian on French Revolution (About how the powers by making Wellington the embassador to France after the Peninsula Wars sent a clear message of anti-French and anti-Napoleon sentiment in provocation), Prussian Militarism as a facade of national propaganda, Kursk as the greatest battle in history and Viking War Tactics and its efficacy's as Byzantine mercenaries.

I'm not too keen on militarism to be honest, but military history is interesting nonetheless.

My grandad was captured in WWII as a merchant marine on his first week of duty as a 17 year old signing on Spent 3 years in Berlin making a scrapbook and thanking his lucky stars he wasn't slavic.
The scrapbook is great, we might donate it to the museum, but it's kind of too treasured by us, need a descendant who is a complete tool (probably my son) to jettison it.
