We just have to cheer "Schultz" every time he touches the puck... and just for fun yell "fist him!" every time Fistric throws a hit
- BigDre

Fistric looked rusty out there... I hope he gets a few games in to shake the rust and be more in tune with his linemates- not sure why it took 7 games for him to draw back in... further pecks must be done- wonder if a team picks him up in the summer- maybe Montreal or Winnipeg could be options for a 7 dman.

If you win the lotto and get Jones then swap draft picks for Barkov many people in Edmonton will eat their (frank)ing shorts...

In all honesty if we dont make any trades this offseason we are going to be sitting here next year talking bottom 10 in the league again... I cant speak for everyone else here but this is getting very (frank)ing sick and annoying already...

Kreuger has his gaffes as well- last night- why did Gags take the draw over Horcoff or Smithson near the final seconds of the game?- further why the (frank) was Smyth on the ice in the last 5 mins of a game??? If playoffs are on the line I just think a coach should go balls deep and ice guys with scoring abilities! Seems to me that this year was mailed in...

- saskoil21

Gagner did win one though and Smithson did lose one at the end so who knows.

We were winning so I can see why he didn't have Fistric in. To be honest I can see why Kreuger doesn't like him. For every hit he lands he gets caught out of position 2 or 3 times.

It's sad when you need a defensive d-man to cover for Fistric like he's some sort of puck rushing d-man.

Big mistake of not trading Paajarvi for Bishop. It would have not saved your season, but at least you would have been ready for next year.

You will still be bad next year. Bad development, bad goalies, super good players. I'm pissed because I wish the SENS had all this talent up front.

Ridiculous

- SENSpatriot

Bishop aint better than dubnyk. He woulda done nothing for us.
We shoulda lost 5-1 last night. Not 2-1.
That was dubnyk.

Dont just reiterate the same tired nonsense uve heard elsewhere. Actually Watch the oilers before u critique.

I'd much rather trade this years pick and prospects.

Actually now would be the time for a Burkie style 2 1sts and a 2nd type of deal.

- robin_steele264

Im with you.

But just for argument sake;

can u imagine the pleasure all the haters would take if our piece went down, or struggled abit??!

After all the, 'trade ur picks/players for proven players' advice from the genius opposition fans who care so much about us succeeding.
It would go something like;
"hahaha. U traded ur first for him? What were u thinking? U could have this kid right now. Who trades their first? And after every edm fan said u guys rule and would be a dynasty! Haha"

Well those window licking tools will be hating the Oilers no matter what.

That's their problem, not ours. I could care less about the idiotic opinions of these fools.

3 years ago they laughed at the lack of talent. Now they laugh at imaginary cap problems. I say that means the team is moving in the right direction.

Because ANY team had a shot at any of these players! Aiming your sites a bit high aren't you? The Oilers don't need to add elite players, they need to add good veteran playrers on offense and defense. The Oilers have more than enough movable assets to accomplish this, but as Richie likes to point out, the "kids" are all untouchable. Which I firmly do not believe, I just think they're way over valued. Personally I think the sooner Edmonton uses a few of it's assets as currency instead of trying to hold on to every piece they've acquried like a squirrel and his nuts, the sooner they'll be on the road to contention.

So we should trade Hall, Ebs, RNH, Yak, Schultz for plugs?

Even if the team does go 7 for 9, that's still no guarantee we make it into the playoffs.

Too little to late. Losing 3 in a row erases the progress we made on that 5 games streak.

It takes time to get better?

For god sake Cloutier, stop bending over Oilers Management. It took less years for Toronto to become better. Even MTL went from 3rd worse in the NHL to 3rd best in one year

The simple truth is.....your oilers management frankly sucks

Obviously, Hall, Eberle, Nuge, Yakupov, Schultz and a few others are untouchables

if you look at other teams that had to go full-rebuild (Penguins and Hawk in particular) success didn't come immediately

success did come remarkably quickly for these teams.

Penguins made the playoffs 3/2 years after Malkin/Crosby were drafted, almost won the Cup 4/3 years after, and did win it 5/4 years after, with both being equal contenders for the Conn Smythe.

Hawks made the playoffs 3/2 years after Toews/Kane were drafted, won the Cup 4/3 years after, with Conn Smyth to Toews, Cup-winning goal by Kane.

Oilers are behind unless they make the playoffs this year and win the Cup in the next 2 seasons.

I don't think we can use injuries as an excuse, look at Ottawa.

No #1 and #2 Forward, no #1 and # 2 D and no #1 goalie and they are in a playoff spot.

I love the kids in EDM but you do need a proven presence on the Ice. Hawks had Hossa, Pitts had Guerin and Recchi. Let's not even talk about defence pillars. You guys would need to sacrifice one of the young to get a proven All-Star Dman and some leadership on front. Remember a certain Smyth and Pronger did for you a couple of years ago?
