Yep, the team in front of the goalie has absolutely no bearing on a goalies performance whatsoever. Being dead last in special teams, bottom 3 in puck possession, dead last in shots allowed.... it all means nothing to a goalie.

The team has more to do than GAA. Taking fewer penalties, spending less time shorthanded, giving up fewer shots when the other team has the man advantage, all reasons why his numbers were higher in 09-10 on special teams.

The team cant get any worse this year. They are performing dead last or a couple of spots from dead last. Its not because Miller is any worse now than he has been for the last 5 years, its because the team in front of him is worse.

He hasnt given up a SH goal. Its his PK SV% thats bringing it down. Go figure, when the other team has a man advantage is when hes at his worst.

His team only gives up 24.27 shots a game when he's in net. The problem is he is only saving 22.05 shots per game. Again last I checked his job is to make saves.

Why should I be surprised that his overall SV% is being brought down when his team is shorthanded, and especially when his team is a bottom 3rd PK team.

53 goalies in total have done the above avg overall sv% and es sv%, a total of 128 times (when playing in 41 games) between 05/06-11/12.

An avg of 18.3 goalies per season do it or more than half the NHL starters.

Sorry I don't find Miller doing it all that impressive.
