They're going to finish where they finish, standings-wise, and there's nothing we can do about it. If we're hoping for a high pick, then root for the Sabres to win and for at least a few teams below us to keep pace. That's where I'm at.

Buffalo is only 4 points out and with Winnipeg and New Jersey currently free falling there's a pretty decent chance you guys could push the Islanders or Rangers out for that last seed.

If I was Buffalo I would be cheering for the leafs to take both games this week against the Rangers. If the Rangers lose both those games, and the Sabres win both of their next two games you guys are tied with them for the final playoff spot.
