Not being in game shape caused his injury IMO.

"Myers twisted his ankle while attempting to defend an opponent driving to the net during a game in early December."

Thats not an injury that is dependent on being in shape or out of shape. Players who are in shape can twist their ankle just as freakishly...

6 points divided by 22 games = .273 points per game x 82 games = 22.36 ~ 22 points in an 82 game season.
- theblueandgold

5 points not 6 5 divided by 22 games equals .227 points per game x 82 games equals 18.614 82 games!

I can do basic math so unless fox sports is missing a point in the 22 games thats correct. Even 22 points is not a 10 million dollar player

He has 5 points in 22 games though.

He had 3 points in 15 games under Ruff.

5 divided by 22 = .227

.227 x 82 = 18.636

It is if his footwork is rusty which it shouldn't have been if he was doing what he was told and stayed in shape.

Right, the math is not incorrect, I misread the game log. Read 5 points as assists and then 1 goal. So I did 6 points instead of 5.

Either way, (thanks for the correction I thought he was only here 17 games) Myers has been a + player under Rolston and has put up more points. Ruff was fired because this team was under achieving
- sbroads24

Yes his plus minus is better I will give you that but he is still struggling. I just dont seem him being the player we all hope he would be

In a full 82 games under Ruff he'd have 16.4 points

Under Rolston is 18.636.

Not much difference offensively IMO.

They have from what I've seen.

I've either been working(my back is to the tv) or doing something else lately so I've missed games.

That they have. He still looks unsure most of the time when he has the puck. Only a few times have I seen him take the puck and just go

There is maybe one goalie besides Broduer who is elite and thats Lundquist. Elite is something that is carried out year in and out. You can call him "not elite" all you want because you are right, but he is better than most and this team would be even worse without him.
- Stripes77

I'd say Miller has been really consistent. 30+ wins in all his seasons since the lockout or something like that. 2 of those are 40+ wins, only one of those seasons having less than .915 SV%. Not many goalies have done that over that long of a time.

Miller is a great goaltender to have, whether or not he is elite... Thats up to you, but he is very consistently good.

Agreed. I am not one to say he is an elite goalie. But he is a very good goalie and I think he gets bashed more because of his mouth than his play. There are about 15 teams that would be happy to have Miller between the pipes.

I can agree on that.

But The same can be said for Darcy. in a way .Difference being Darcy isn't necessarily the difference maker in winning and losing a game.

Which is why changing coaches has helped him already IMO, he was lost (as was the whole team) under Ruff at the start of the year

James Patrick hasnt moved and that's who primarley works with the D.

Myers needs to be better, no matter who the coach is. He had the same coach 3 years ago when he was good.

If you look at the first 2 years out of the lockout his save percentage wasnt great, however scoring in the league was crazy high with the penalties that were being called and the sabres were a run and gun team. They gave up so many odd man rushes and breakaways. He didnt have to be great but he was called upon numerous times a game to make a big save

Its a small sample but yes. But Rolston seems to want the guys to play a more simple game. You dont pay a guy 5.5M to play simple, you can get a nice simple game from a guy like Pardy. Myers needs to be a difference maker.

Hopefully he can turn it around next year.
