7 points in 31 games makes him high level??? Thats 19 points over an 82 game season. Correct me if I am wrong but Ruff coached him his rookie season. Put him in every position to succed. Myers was so sheltered his rookie season and teams know his weaknesses now. No coach can hide that especially when it comes to being a franchise defensemen that he is supposed to be contract and all - Stripes77
1 point and a-7 in 15 or so under Ruff, 7 points and a +5 in 15 or so under Rolston. It's not a coincidence that he's has been much better. He had been completely lost under Ruff. He's finally getting more PP time, finally paired with a steady partner in Ehrhoff. Ruff has messed with him since his rookie year, he was expected to be a shutdown guy at 20 years old. And has also had spurts where he did dominate in that role too.

Even better - Stripes77
Take his numbers under Rolston and average that out for a full season. he would be a +30 with 12 goals and 30 assists. I'm not blaming this all on Ruff, but it had a lot to do with it IMO. This is why firing coaches is a good thing

In his case . he didn't negotiate that contract . It was a gift. Merry Christmas Thomas. He has done pretty good by it compaired to some of the other high paid players in the league. - cabin
Incorrect. Thomas Vanek is every bit as responsible for that contract. I dont recall Miller, Myers, Stafford, or any other Sabre refuse to sign a contract extension, go beyond the free agency period, hold out, and then sign a contract that was offered by another team for a high dollar amount.
He forced the Sabres hand on that one for the money he wanted.

25% on Vanek, 45% on his agent, 30% on Darcy and Quinn for saying they will match any offersheet. That statement added $10 mil in signing bonuses into the 1st 2 yrs of his deal.

Wrong Lindy got fired Feb 20th Rolston has coached 22 games 1 goal 4 assists 5 pts equals 18.6 pts per 82 game season. Those are the stats coming from fox sports

6 points divided by 22 games = .273 points per game x 82 games = 22.36 ~ 22 points in an 82 game season.

Either way, (thanks for the correction I thought he was only here 17 games) Myers has been a + player under Rolston and has put up more points. Ruff was fired because this team was under achieving
