Sorry, but 2 Flyers got concussions during practice on that 5 day break?

F'n brilliant.

I knew it! Lavi banged their heads together...

I'm surprised Grossmann didn't win. I guess Briere got his stick up.

Heard Mason just signed a 1 yr 1.5 million dollar deal. Not bad for a back up now!
- mhbst7

Yeah heard this as well..Very good news and a fair price.. If he shows he's still got game, then this is a steal.. Goaltending set, Homer's gotta get a plan to fix the d and Poof.. stanley cup champs hahah

I think the Flyers absolutely want to move him. And if they don't. I think the chances of a buyout are very high for Briere. Don't see how they have much choice.
Think about the situation. If Briere get's bought out. Then he get's that money. And he's a UFA who can make his own deal. I think the NMC is really going to limit the teams that Briere is willing to go to. Along with his cap hit of 6.5 with two years remaining after this year. Is going to make it difficult to trade him. In the example you used of Tim Thomas. He is in the last year of his deal.

- MJL

I am thinking about the situation. And were it a different player I might agree with you. I just think Danny would move his NMC if asked. I agree it might be tough finding a team that wants to take him, were he would want to go. But I still see it as something he and Homer would work out, rather than something Danny would force Holmgren's hand on. I guess we'll just wait and see.

There were rumors that Boston was interested until the concussion hit.

Ok Philly guys need some opinions here!
St. Louis has never been a big spending team. I cant remember the last time, if ever they've been near the top of the spending list.
They've got to re-sign a boatload of RFA's this summer. And with J-Bow's acquisition, i think Shats can be had for the right price

What do you think could get St. Louis to trade Shatts here, WITHOUT trading Couts?
I doubt it would be enough, but i'd offer Read, Cousins, McGinn, 2014 1st for Shatts. Flyers seem extremely high of Laughton, and Cousins is really a mid tiered prospect, and can play wing. Laughton is a straight center, and St. Louis has an over capacity of those, hence Read and Cousins, who can both play wing.

I wont lie i dont want to underbid

With Laughton being on the roster next year, Read is kind of expendable... and i (frank)ing love Read. Im sure the way Gagne has played for us he will be resigned, especially after letting him go and that whole fiasco, i believe he'll end his career as a Flyer now.
Its high. Shats is a top pairing dman. He is a #2 guy. Once Kimmo retires after the 13/14 or 14/15 season we're gonna be (frank)ed. Pretty obvious we have to make a sizeable move on D
New offer: Read, Cousins, Gus, 2014 2nd, 3rd.

Also im pretty done with this Mezzy expirement... time to let the young guys prove themselves. Mezzy ios the DiPietro of dmen. Unfortunate because i thought he was a solid 2nd pairing guy when healthy. Time to move on. If we can get ANYTHING of value for him like a 3rd rounder, or a defense prospect, do it.

Danny Syvret tweeted that picture out over the weekend.

I had seen that picture and about an hour after Syvret tweeted it, I had a conversation with some family members who don't watch hockey, but wanted to talk about the Kevin Ware injury because it was so gruesome.

I then showed them the picture of Wellwood's skate and explained how it got that bloody.

Non-hockey fans have no idea how dangerous hockey is in ways the other major sports are not.

Well, this is frustrating...Dump Bob because the front office thought he was being paid too much as a backup. In comes Mason for a little more money and IMO, Mason isn't as good as Bob.

You mean there are no other sports where the players carry clubs and move around on knives?

Does mason now make more than what Bob did? I never liked the trade of Bob, but I have no issue with getting Mason.. Boush and Leighton weren't cutting it and this kid is 24..I also like the fact that we are starting to value young d prospects.. Stolarz, Mason etc.. draft one this year in round 2 or 3.. it's what nashville did for years and they found Rinne..

Yep, I don't know what could POSSIBLY go wrong there.

I never even got to talk about the infamous Clint Malarchuk injury after showing that skate picture.

Bob has played well this year ... but he's only played 30 games or so. Let's see how he does by the end of next season, when he's played a full schedule.

Mason also, with a new team and evidently proper-fitting equipment (!) might also be better judged after next year.

I hope so! Bryz needs to be pushed. Mason needs to regain his confidence. Part of me hopes Mason finds his game and they use an amnesty on Bryzgalov after next season.

I still think the way Bob was handled was wrong. He should have been allowed to play the whole playoffs in 2010, not be relegated to third string after one bad period. Even then I thought there was no need to sign Bryz (don't get me wrong I like Bryz). But, Snider issued is edict and that was that. The whole thing was a clusterfrank.
