Question : would the team making a miracle run to somehow get into the playoffs mean either...

A. The team still stinks and will be out quickly in round one.

or

B. Energize the team, and specifically Miller, and give them a chance to win a round?

A top 3 draft pick is obviously the best possible option to most help the team, but I am curious what most think about the question above.
I am guessing A. would be chosen by almost everyone.

Depends on many factors. Do they get to #7? If so I think they have proven they can hang with Boston and Montreal. If they only get to #8 do they play a healthy Pens team or one without Crosby or Malkin? The Penguins aren't scary without Crosby even with adding Morrow, Iginla, etc.
