I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel, but it is in my hand with my arm raised. Our cold, hard reality is that we need to go 9-2, if not 9-1-1 (yes, I get the irony) to make it to the dance.
You can tell by this game the type of impact player Victor Hedman is and how much he's missed. That's a huge hole on our Blueline that can't be plugged by a career AHLer (no offense Matt). We needed him today and hopefully comes back soon. He's our top defenseman and eats huge minutes.
Looking to the off season, I don't foresee ant big additions to this team. I expect Malone to be dealt for a pick and players for Syracuse. I believe that Yzerman and Cooper will stick with this group.
Keep your heads up Bolts fans, better days are coming

None of the goals were Bishop's fault. They came from shots he SHOULDN'T have to face if the DEFENSE are doing their jobs, one of which is playing with even a HINT of physicality, and 2, you have to let him SEE THE DAMN SHOTS.

Disappointing yes. A bust hell no. Move on tonight is a big game. We will get the Bitc*es from Brooklyn next year. How we let a Islander team sweep us is ridiculous. it seems we play in quicksand against them. Six point behind Washington playing two this week with a game in hand is the story. The Jets we have 3 in hand. In between Ottawa who have lost 3 and the Pens while coming out of the doldrums after the streak will be tough. Washington is living and dying on the power play. Ov has like 14 of his 23 on the power play. We need a shut down on the Ribero OV line to win.

That's just a ridiculous comment. There was one stinker, and the team didn't deserve to be in the game. He was the only reason the Islanders didn't get two or three in the first period alone.

Instead of aging goalies? We don't have an former 1b/2a aging goalie on our roster. Garon is the back-up, Lindback/Bishop is the starter right now. Next season Lindback and Bishop will split the duties.

I have no idea whether or not you watched the game, but based on your comment I'm willing to bet you didn't. Goaltending is not the problem right now. It's easy for outside fans to look at the highlights/boxscore and make a bunch of bogus conclusions. Take it from me, goaltending was not the problem on Saturday night.

I agree. It would have been at least 3-0 after the 1st period if not for Bishop. After you guys tied it up in the 3rd I was waiting for you guys to take the lead. For some reason I had a bad feeling about last nights game but we squeaked one out

Bernier's technique is redic. Hes always in position. Id like to see him in NJ for a Merrill package. I thought Chicago for a Saad package.

Bernier to Isles....
hope it happens in off-season

TB has a great goalie in Bishop, wanted him also by trade deadline, but you guys got him....awesome pick up.....

I didn't watch, but it sounds like Bishop had a Bryzgalov type game; many good saves but one weak goal.

And Roloson worked out alright for us the year Yzerman brought him in. Hindsight is 20/20, but at the time it was hard to fault him for bringing Rollie back.

he never saw it more a case of bad checking and being screened. He never moved

exactly...he OBVIOUSLY didn't see it..it's not that he had a stinker and attempted to save it but couldn't save it...he just simply did not see it and it is rediculous for that guy earlier to come in and say he is a bust lol this guy is completely whacked?!?His first game was incredible..inspiring..and his 2nd game was the exact same, he just didn't see it ...not that he attempted the save and failed..he would of had that easily if he saw it..bishop and lindback are both amazing goalies and yes im saying amazing because its true. Bishop was 2nd in the league for save percentage going into this game only behind who? craig anderson who has been injured and his stats havent been able to move up nor down.. and lindback was amazing before he was injured.

this team knows exactly who they are between the pipes, yzerman made damn sure of it on the trade deadline..

What do you guys think of bishops reaction to that goal he didn't see? The TV announcers were saying how it was rediculous he did that and he shouldn't be blaming his players and making it obvious to the whole arena...

In my opinion it was just a reaction like "what the hell" as appose to blaming everyone out front..he only did it for like 1 second

Bishop is fantastic with helping the break out, directing d-men where the open man is and communicating as well as playing the puck and this guy saying hes a bust is an idiot lol

Weather other teams fans notice or not, the Lightning are moving in the right direction. That first year did more to hurt Yzerman then helped him. We are in to deep of a hole on this bastard of a season. If this was a full season and we made the coaching change with this many games played we'd have a shot, but people must realize this crap is only temporary and Yzerman has built us for the long haul.

Bishop back in tonight. Good call. Gives the team a chance to win.

Last chance here tonight. Have to win.

absolutely agree. the ship is already too flooded for this year and you can tell its in their heads, despite the better coaching. they looked lazy last night. what they all need is some good strength training over the summer and a LONG camp to really get some chemistry not just with the players, but the coaching staff as well. already looking forward to the breakout season that no one will expect
