Holy why are we arguing with Leaf fans they are an original 6 team which means they are the greatest franchise ever and its doesn't matter if the don't make the playoffs this year or ever again because they have 13 cups when there where only six teams and we only have 3 in a completely different era only Leafs fans can lose and be irrelevant for so long and still think they are the greatest why argue everything we say is irrelevant because we only have three cups to there 13 not to mention they have been one of the best run franchises for so long

maybe he was actually in pain.. I get it, you're mad. 4 losses in row, soon to be 5. Must suck to fall out of the playoffs and have hardly no prospects with an aging team.

Most sensible Leaf fans realize the Devils have been one of the best run franchises in the league for many, many years.

Losing Parise to free agency and now Kovalchuk to injury obviously weakens your offense, but I'm sure Lou will figure out a way to get the team back to the top.

He always does.

i can't speak for all Canadians.. But arguing that Americans know more about hockey is like saying Canadians know more about guns... or doughnuts.

What's to know about donoughts? I really don't see how geography makes Canadians more knowledgeable about hockey.

I think the days of riding on Marty's coattails are over... good luck being relevant/existing from here on....

Marty's been great, especially the last 2 games. He can't score the goals tho.

At this point I'm rooting for losses, even if we make playoffs we aren't going anywhere, and we need a good pick more than a 1st, maybe 2nd round bounce

Isn't this the year, that Lamerello has to forfeit his first pick over the Kovelchuk signing fiasco? He had a choice to surrender it last year and kept it. This may not turn out very good for the Devils, if they sink down into the bottom 10.

I thought it was for 3 years that they had a choice and this was the last year.

You are correct. I just looked it up. They had 4 years to comply, not 3. They either abstain from the pick this year, or next year. I guess that they should have passed on it, last year, after making a run to the finals. It would have been the 29th pick in the first round and it was a mediocre draft. Next year, when the east grows to 18 teams, it's going to be more difficult to make it into the playoffs.

East will be 16 teams. And yeah it might be harder to make it. I would have preferred if they gave up last seasons but I also see the logic in not giving it up. Get a prospect with 2 years older than a prospect drafted next year. Hopefully not a high pick next season.

I meant to type 16, but all things considered, the Wings and Jackets will be tough teams to play against. Winnipeg is MEH and will take their mediocrity west.

I can't speak for all Canadians either. But there's clearly several Americans in this very thread who know more about hockey than you do.
