Where is this elbow people talk about?
I did not see Del Zotto's elbow make contact with Neal. - Coburns_Nose
Not seeing an elbow to the head (regardless of intent) makes me think that you miss an awful lot watching hockey. |

By his body language, Del Zotto didn't know that it was icing, let alone Dupuis. - rival22
Dupuis is not a dirty player, by any means, but that was an attempt to hurt Del Zotto.
Accidents happen and Del Zotto's hit on Neal was accidental. |

Ever since Pittsburgh drafted Crosby every fanbase outside of Pens Nation has been a bunch of sooks and Penguin haters.
Reckless play, clear elbow to the skull. Fine. |

As much as I'd enjoy an opportunity to troll on the Rags, I can't see any possible reason for him to be suspended. Maybe a fine for a reckless play, blindly throwing his elbow around, but it's not suspension worthy. I don't think that was the least bit intentional. |

Makes me think he doesn't have any eyes at all. |

So, you can be reckless and it's okay? So, after a slap shot just let your stick fly out of your hands and decapitate somebody? It's okay, because it was only reckless but no malice was intended! |

No suspension should be given to someone running into your elbow when you're not even facing them. |

Whatever goes around comes around. James Neal is one of the biggest cheap shot artists in the league and one of the best at going after a player's head and hitting a player from behind. Neal and the Penguins with Morrow and Cook and Kunitz and Malkin get no sympathy from me. |

Even if it was an accident, the NHL has no consistency when it comes to supplementary discipline. This is a reckless play regardless of the intent and he should have been made an example of.
I'm curious why there was no blog made about the lack of discipline when Lupul got hit, though. |

Coming from the guy who's team has Brayden Schenn on it, man has never kept his feet on the ice when throwing a body check. |

I think Dupuis took a run at Del Zotto for sure. I have no problem with it either. He's supposed to stick up for his teammates. I don't think Del Zotto intended to injure Neal but it was a reckless elbow to the face and should have been penalized and possibly fined. The injury was just unfortunate. And for all those watching in slow motion please stop.

A fine at worst for Del Zotto. Reckless, but not malicious.
However, I'm trying to imagine the reaction here if the roles were reversed. People would be crying star treatment if he (Neal) didn't get a suspension. |

If you could plan to have someone skate full force, crouched, and hit his face into the back of your elbow when you stopped, without looking, you would be the best player in the game. The puck was there when the hit came, it was not even a penalty. For all we know Del Zotto stopped so he could play the puck like most dmen do when they are near the boards and was willing to take his chance with being hit from behind. 99% of the time, the charging forward from behind hits the guy with a shoulder or a cross check and Del Zotto would have drawn a good penalty on this.
This was a one of situations that is unfortunate. Feel bad for both and Del Zotto looked like he felt bad for hurting him. Rough game and it sucks when things like this happen. |

I don't see how you can suspend for that... it's like the Matt Cooke/Karlson incident. Could Del Zotta honestly have planned to leap and blindly elbow Neal directly in the mouth while not even being 100% aware of where he was?
Seems like one of those unfortunate hockey incidents where someone gets injured but it probably wasn't done maliciously... if it was, I don't see how that could be determined.
No suspension imo... maybe karma for the Cooke skate thing ;-) - fishbulb80
If Karma was real the Flyers wouldn't even be able to put a team on the ice. Funny how so many Flyer fans believe in it. |

Dupuis wasn't going after Del Zotto on that icing call? Sorry, I forgot which fan base I was trying to reason with, your guys can do no wrong.
You also think Matt Cooke is just an agitator and not a complete piece of garbage too, right? |

Rosehill on Lupul wreckless and not even a review.
Clearly I thought the NHL was coming down on players who take advantage of players that are unsuspecting positions and head shots.
But the NHL has failed as ususal...only coming down on repeat offenders IMO> |

Not for the last little while anyways...he used to be a big piece of poop and has gotten better ( he knew he was a big piece of poop too!!! )...I know Ottawa CSI will find him to be guilty..but I think it would be pretty odd for a hockey player to try and slice somebody open on purpose, again IMO. |
