This has nothing to do with anything but there are 3 guys who were drafted beyond the first round in the 2011 draft playing in the NHL right now or who have even played a game.....2 play for Chicago. What a great job they did after having to rip apart the 10 cup team

I re-listening to the interviews Mason gave after the trade, it really strikes me just how bad the flow of communication was between him and the Jackets coaches.

For instance, for a couple of years he wore equipment that was too small for him because he was under the impression that it was the largest size he was allowed to wear under NHL rules. He was getting beat up with it, and either the team told him that it was illegal to wear bigger gear or misunderstood his issues with the equipment.

The minimal cost makes him a worthwhile risk.

Hope everyone saw the HNIC pregame show. Two key points made:

1. Byfuglien was moved to forward because his coach was tired of him playing crappy defense and not taking the stick of the offensive players near the net. Further, his compete level is horrible, even when he was at forward. He's back at D today, but the coaching staff is essentially fed up with his lack of compete.

2. Bryz has not gotten nearly enough credit for the job he's done this year keeping the Flyers in games despite all the injuries on D. Said they realize not a popular opinion, but think Bryz gets a bad rap from the 24/7 stuff and has really played very well this season.
