No, because I think they can get similar performance for far less of a cap hit

Im always torn.

I'd like to give the guy one more season, but on one hand just cut the cord now. A lot of this is on the team overall, and not having a back-up but in two seasons he has helped make his own bed somewhat.

Edit: I'd like to see Bill's thoughts in general on the situation. Its not all his fault, but I wouldnt be at all suprised if the whole Bryzgalov thing has become a distraction to the team.

I think he's had a couple good games and several others where he very much looks like an AHL defenseman. Subpar puckhandler and frequently out of position. I think the league will catch up with him rather quickly (today's minus-three aside).

I wouldnt have him or Guss slotted to play #6 next season. I lean a little more toward having veteran 7th d-men anyway.

Didn't make enough effort to move out of the way. Apparently. He was nearly slewfooted if you ask me.

The one thing with Mason.

He looks fast, but rebound control may be a thing. The dropping too early many young goaltenders do.

Its hard for me to talk on Bryz.

The organization and team in general hasnt helped him a lot, but he also hasnt done enough to help himself.

Would like to see Bill's thoughts.

He needs to be more than an average goaltender for the salary. The amount of time he has played this season and the horrific D play have made it hard to judge him. However as I said before, he hasn't helped his case all that much either.

Pretty sure this is how Mason walked down the terminal upon his arrival at Philly International.

Something to think about.

Stacked teams aside (Chicago and Pittsburgh), most of the elite teams in the league have consistent elite goaltending.

Most cup winners, also have guys who play at a pretty high level.

Hard to judge with this crew though.
