Schenn looks like the second coming of Matt stajan with more of a physical game. B/w schenn, coots, Laughton you'd think over the next year their going to trade one for some help elsewhere.

I'd like to see couts take some initiative this summer and work on getting stronger. The onus at this point is on him if he wants to take his game to the next level. Stamkos upped his game with the Roberts program, if he doesn't make a bigger step in his strength this summer it would be disappointing

The problem is avoiding overpaying. People are talking about Couturier for Shattenkirk, and there's no way I'd do that.

Flyers traded JVR for Schenn....So Couts for Shattenkirk is pretty good trade if anything might take more from the flyers side.

last line in Garrioch's column today:

Expect the Philadelphia Flyers to thank coach Peter Laviolette for his service at the end of the season.

If that's the case they should've fired him when they had that 2 week break with 2 games in 10 days. He's actually coached better the last stretch of games than he did the first 30.

if we believe that couts will exceed schenn as a better overall player, then schenn is the guy who is a better match as a pmt for shattenkirk. schenn has more polish right now in some areas, but he's more physically mature.

i think the growth we expect from schenn in his overall game seems to be somewhat underrated, but i do think that couts will be the better player in 2-3 yrs. couts needs to work on his skating, particularly his 1st couple of strides and his balance, along w/ some overall strength training. more than anything though, he just has to grow into his body and we can only push that so much.

I wouldn't trade either for Shattenkirk. He's a good defenseman, but he's not a true number one.
