I think the top 3 would be number 1 or number 2 every year for the last few years, if Drouin or Mackinnon goes 3rd, that's the most talented 3rd overall pick in a long time
- sbroads24

Jonathan Toews is a very good 3rd overall pick.

He didn't play right after being drafted though. Played another year for the University of North Dakota.

I want Drouin so bad. Watched some highlights, Datsyuk like shiftiness
- sbroads24

Would be a great pick. Your team has size down the middle so you don't have to worry about too many small forwards. His ceiling is ridiculous. I'm hoping the Oilers get Monahan or Barkov (if we miss the playoffs).

I'm sure you've discussed this at length but I just want to chime in on the value the sabres got for Regehr and Pominville.

Regehr, pretty good value on an aging player

Pominville - Awesome pull, awesome. I thought it was fair at Hackett and Larsson but the 2013 first and 2014 second made Buffalo win that deal IMO mainly because Pommer isn't gauranteed to sign with Minny after next year. Hackett looks like a great goal tender, Larsson a good complimentary top 6 guy. Plus a pick in a great first round. Of course these are not guarantees and Pominville is good for 70 points a year. I think you got a great return from a good player who generally flies under the radar.

Add those with Myers, Hodgson, Armia, Pysyk, Superduperfreakerenko, and Girgensons. Pretty good future.

I say this about most things to us what we say doesnt matter but when outsiders say stuff has more pull. And I love your team think your 1 dman and 1 very good goalie away pulling for you a lil less than Columbus

Not to mention if things keep going sour you have a chance at a top 5 pick which could likely be your cornerstone to go with that set of young talent.

Next is Ryan Miller and Vanek perhaps? Vanek's contract is rough but you should get a solid return there.

Towes doesn't have the talent of Drouin or Mackinnon, has the intangibles and pedigree of a great Captain and all around great player, but IMO you will see Drouin and Mackinnon atop the scoring leaders for a long time

I think we all agree we got a good return for Poms. I still believe Vanek can get a good return this summer anything beyond that his value drops. A 7mil cap hit can be hard to swallow but for one year isnt too bad especially on teams that have a ton of cap space plus he does not have any NTC or NMC to limit trade options. Here's to a Oiler Sabres cup final in the future

During the summer I was working a job that was second shift. Got a good 9-5 M-F gig now. I can pop in sometimes during the day depending on how busy I am, but some of the stuff that seems to go on during the day around here doesn't appeal to me anyway.

Like FUcale is the top rated goalie not in my book you have some great talent in front of you

Lol... I am feeding my 1 month old as a speak.... well played sir.

With our 2 1sts.... I want one of each... a big physical dman... and a legit top 6 scoring threat who isn't a tiny twirp unless it is drouin....

Drouin, barkov, niahushkin, monahan, or lindholm are all great in my book.

Dubnyk has been solid. Has a 920 save percentage last time I checked. He can still let a few softies in but he hasn't been the problem for us by any means. I wanted bishop as well. Apparently we just missed out.
