Jensen already burns a year regardless whether he plays in the AHL or NHL this year since he's no longer Junior eligible. When he went to the SEL to play, it counts as a year played because his rights were no longer owned by a Major Junior league team.

Jensen was still Jr. eligible this year, and as far as I know, his time in the SEL has no bearing on his Jr./NHL status.

The reason he was able to go directly to the AHL, rather than have to report to Oshawa after his SEL season was over, was because Oshawa didn't keep him on their protected list, from what I've read.

Not 100% certain, though, which is why I'd like to see your source.

Wondering the exact same thing... Canucks would have not brought him up to the wolves if that was the case.. or brought him up to big team sooner. Everything I have been hearing is Jensen is getting sent down tomorrow.

If Jensen plays more than 5 games, he burns a year on his contract. He'll be sent down before that.
