Reason for that last loss to the Oilers due to fatigue was also an excuse for the Canucks playing their 5th in 7 games and coming out really flat. The Oilers are supposed to be a young team so I won't chalk this one up just completely to fatigue, but of course having two days off compared to just a few hours for the Oilers made a difference. Another factor was that this a veteran team that got smoked 4-0 last game against the young Oilers so you knew that they were going to play them tough in their home building last night and oddly enough they beat them with the exact same score.

Roy instantly makes this team better in many ways, this guy IMO instantly becomes the 3rd most skilled forward on this team behind the Sedins
plus he has more speed and better one-on-one moves, also becomes the second best playmaker behind Henrik. He finally gives this team a legit 2nd line center for the first time this season without Kesler and is the type of center that actually makes his wingers better which is why the Booth injury really sucks since Booth is the type of winger that really needs a center like that to thrive meanwhile Higgins and Hansen have done well this season playing with guys like Schroeder, Lapierre and Ebbett. I'm very excited to see this team once Raymond and Kesler are back, that's even more speed and offense added. Hopefully Booth is ready to go by round one, but that seems unlikely.

I thought Garrison and Bieksa looked dominant defensively against the smaller Oiler forwards. Garrison has been a rock in his own zone after taking some time to adjust, I was panicking about that signing after the first few games but he's earning it right now. I guess the advanced stats were right about this one.

Higgins had a great game, the guy brings it every night just like Hansen and both of those two have been huge to this team, I hope they keep it up once Raymond and Kesler are back.

Barker is just awful IMO, lacks defensive awareness and for an offensive d-man he doesn't do much with the puck. Even on that odd man rush where Kassian fed him the puck, he wasn't fast enough to get there and then made a brutal pass back to the blueline even though all 3 forwards were right in the net and I believe it was Kassian or Jensen that was open in the slot looking right at him. Give me Alberts, or preferably a healthy Ballard over Barker anyday of the week.

- Nucker101

Garrison had a decent hit I think, but other than that, was pretty invisible. Bieksa broke up like four odd man rushes at least so he gets my begrudging praise. I thought Hamhuis was the better guy than Garrison last night, stealing pucks right at the blue line and good in transition.

It's funny how Oilers fan are telling themselves to not look too much into a drubbing of the flames just like Canucks fans are telling themselves not to look too much into a pounding of the Oilers. Different stages I guess. Hope we squeak in, in this post-lockout world I've come to believe that it's "the more Canadian teams the merrier".

Im just well acquainted with a fanbase being lumped in with their bloggers opinion and it boggles me that so many dont seem to realize that hes just one guy with an opinion. Thats it. Really, for the most part on here, the bloggers exist to provide us with discussion forums. Thats it. I dont even read Boners blogs anymore.
- sanfordnson

I read blogs only when the discussion calls for it... so I can actually contribute in some way. Otherwise I just jump in and talk hockey.. or troll. Whichever is needed first!

When it comes to defenseman.... that kind of comment is music to the ears. I thought all the D played solid... honestly.. the only forward who really disappointed me was daniel sedin.. he had 2-3 really bad passes that led to odd man rushes.

Loved the way Roy looked out there... the team was buzzing and there was some smart decisions made. Wish the PP could be more successful and boy was the reffing average once again.. that missed cross check on daniel sedin in front of the net and the slash in front of the net on (i believe hank) where shorthouse went silent for like 2 minutes was just wow.. and that clearly missed too many men call on the canucks PP. I'm sure there was more.. including against the canucks.. but those were just atrocious. When will the refs be fined for poop like that?

Buddy you are the one coming in here insulting an entire fanbase like you know us all and we are all the same—and you're calling us disgusting....?

I happen to like many of the Oilers fans who come to this board to talk hockey. I also like the Oilers as a team. I don't think you'll find a single EDM fan on this site that would classify me as anything close to what you just described.

I realize you are just one fan, and don't represent the Oilers, or their other fans.

When you come here and lump us all in with the Canucks fans you've met that have driven you to write that drivel, you're no better than they are.

Go take a Valium, and calm down.

I didn't recognize any of the names he mentioned, is he referring to TSN posters? Because we all know that a group of posters on any site represents an entire fanbase and city. Wow.

You are one of the few level headed people on this entire site.

Well apparently a couple hundred people represent the entire province of British Columbia.... I didn't riot.. and didn't support that atrocity.

I love the Canucks.. but do not base my opinions on what I'm told by the media or what Gillis and AV want me to believe. I think Kesler is a hell of a player.. but he dives and I hate it. He is injury proned and I would be fine with him being dealt.

The Canucks are a great team.. but I will not defend every little action of every single player on the team and every single fan on here. Its not my job to.. and I would never act like are fan base is better than any other because its not... every fan base has great, passionate and knowledgeable fans and every fan base has idiotic trolls who are blind to reality.

But I still come here.. because of guys like you and others who enjoy shootin the poop!

Garrison did have a nice hit on Eberle, but I was more referring to his defensive positioning and stick work defensively, he even bailed out Bieksa once in the second. Both of them were very good IMO. Hamhuis had his typical steady game as well, everyone of them other than Barker played well.

I hope the Oilers squeak into 8th.

I think so.

Does anybody who comes into a message board for the sole purpose of calling an entire fanbase "disgusting," or anybody who goes onto a message board simply to insult, for that matter, really have any right to talk about class?

Areed. Same to you

I usually just try to ignore those kinds of posts, but I couldn't let that one pass.

There's been a surprising amount of good discussion in here lately, with lots of great contributions from other fanbases as well, just have to wade through all the vitriol to find it...

I just have to say this as it will never get printed on TSN: the canuck low life low brow fans are the most disgusting fans in the game. No wonder ALL of Canada hates the canucks and ESPECIALLY their fans like lotterychump, blueballs, knuckles, dvtransvestite demanu et all.

I feel better.

Bettman wants to keep games close. He asks them to manage games.
