MAF was AWESOME tonight. I can't believe Jokinen went through waivers. He had speed, forechecked, played 100% all game, and was like 11/13 on the faceoffs. The defense did a decent job, but fleury made the D look a lot better than what it was. I just can't wait to see this team healthy.
P.s - is it just me, or is Malkin playing a little lazily. He had some really good shifts, but then really bad shifts at times |

Jussi was outstanding on faceoffs tonight. That's going to be such a big advantage to have. Needless to say he paid immediate dividends tonight.
Nice to see them bounce back after two lackluster performances.
Hopefully Neal is okay. Sick and tired of the injuries. |

I thought Eaton, Murray and Bortuzzo were all pretty good. Eaton was really the best of the bunch. Nisk, Engellend and Orpik had some very suspect moments.
I can't believe the 'canes with the current state of their team wanted rid of Jokinen so badly they just gave him away. Really a strange move on their part. |

I liked Bortuzzo's game. I'd rather see him out there before Engelland.
I don't get the Jokinen thing with Carolina either. Even if you want him off the books next season, trade him in the summer. You might get someone to take the full salary then. |

Did you not watch the games he has played? Weak on the puck, weak on the boards, just weak all the way around, he falls to the ice every time he checks someone.
I would dress Bill Guerin right now over Iginla. |

I'm not sold on him yet...he's ways to go as far as getting comfortable with Geno/Neal. I'd like to see him removed from that line and maybe take some shifts on the 1st and 3rd lines, alternating with Dupper. |

I'd understand if his cap hit was higher, but at 3 mil per year it's really not that bad for them |

Iginla needs Sid to be any kind of a threat at all.
Iginla is done. He has no fight left in his body at all. He was a huge mistake.

I thought we were getting a "tough" Iggy. He's far from that. I hope he's keeping his game for the playoffs. We need hits/forecheck/quick skating from him. Morrow threw his body quite well tonight...that's an improvement. |

That's not true. I saw several Calgary games this year. He started slow, but was really playing some good hockey the last few weeks. He's certainly not the same dynamic player but he knows where to go to get shots and he still has a wicked shot. He really needs to play RW however. I agree, he needs to play with Sid. Get Kunitz with Geno.
Have some patience. Completely different system. Not to mention, the day he arrives the whole dynamic of the team is changed. |

I think it's evident that the Kunitz-malkin-Neal line need to be out back together and have a dupuis-Crosby-iggy line once sid is back with jussi taking the center on that line in the mean time. |

As much as I hate to lose, the Pens could basically sleep walk through the rest of this month and get the first or second seed. No sense in rushing anyone back. Maybe call up the Baby Pens for a few this month and get some rest. Send Iggy and Morrow to the beach for a week. |
