Technically. Though at his age he can make the move to pro if he wants and the Calgary ELC bodes well for that train of thought.

If he desired to play as an overager he has the option.

In the spirit of "going for it", which FA center would you be willing to overpay and by how much ( in order, please)

Exactly. Is he supposed to come out and say "We don't expect to be a playoff team for the next couple of teams at least....welp...see you at the game!!!"

Drouin is listed as a LW which we certainly don't need more of (I thought he was a pure C). He's also only 5'10" which I wouldn't normally care about but our team is starting to look small. After Jones and Mac, I'm all in for Barkov; 6'3" 209lbs. just what we need to play with Sven or Gaudreau.
- TandA4Flames

MAckinon, MONAHAN, Jones, Barkov, Shinkaruk, Lazar (come on....his name is LASER) would be the order I'd go for

Dear Season Ticket Holders,

As many of you have already heard from the media, opposing fans, trolls etc., the Calgary Flames aren't going to make the play-off's next season. In fact, we aren't even going to try. In case this doesn't upset you, the news is going to get worse, because we aren't even going to try for about 3 or 4 more years.

Now I know you may all think this is crazy but I'm telling you; this organization (including myself) does not have the ability to improve in the future aside from completely tanking and giving up all hope. Until we get enough consecutive first overall picks to take us to the promised land you can say goodbye to the days of 04, heck, we might not even win 4 games a year!

With that being said, we appreciate your support. Please send all your hard earned money for next years tickets ASAP. I know our players aren't going to try, but we still need to pay them and there's no way to get rid of them. Sure our games won't be competitive or entertaining at all, but if you look on the bright side, the beer is only $8.00!!!

Best Regards,

Jay Feaster

Drouin and Nate are tough picks to make. who is making who better?

The oil took MA Pouliot after he lit up the Q playing wing for Sid and has since fell off the hockey landscape.

You're big on Monohan; him over Barkov & Jones? Why? Not that I don't like him. I have no interest in Shinkaruk. There should be options just as good if not better at that spot and, again, he is a LW which we are over-loaded with. C,D & RW is what we really need to focus on. Lazar I would condider with the PIT pick but I'm not overly keen on him either.

1st pick: MacKinnon, Jones, Barkov
2nd pick: Ristolainen, Pulock, Gauthier
3rd pick: Zykov, Morrisey, Bowey

Other options: Drouin, Lindholm, Monohan, Zadorov, Bailey

Who's playing on who's wing? I thought Mac was playing some RW with Drouin but if Drouin is listed as a LW, maybe he is on Mac's wing.

I think Jones will be number 1 pick for sure. I think Nathan will be taken 2nd overall but Drouin is really making it a tough deabte on who the top NA forward is.

Lets say we have the 3rd overall pick, jones and Mckinnon are taken, would you guys take Drouin or Barkov?? Barkov could be the centremen we have been dreaming of for years, but, Drouin has over 2PPG and looked great at the WJ tournament.

I think we need to do whatever we can to get Nathan Mckinnon, but if he is taken and Barkov is still available, I would take him.

- bigbear89

If it is a center that they want, and if both are still available, I'm not convinced that the Flames should take MacKinnon over Barkov. Some have said that with his size he may be a better fit on the wing. Similar to what has happened with Tyler Seguin in Boston.

I'm still all for the dream / fantasy of using the first rounders we have along with players that weren't moved at the trade deadline to keep trying to move up. Say the flames pick is second overall. Then as an example The St. Louis pick (best case it is 15th overall) and a player to maybe get up to say 9th. 9th and another player to get up fo 4th. 4th, the Pittsburgh pick and another player to get to third. Then draft both Mackinnon and Drouin with the second and third picks.

Just an example, obviously would't be as straight forward as that. May take more to make it work. Also depends on the teams and what they will be wanting. Colorado will want a defenceman (Jones) as they are good for centers (o'Reilly and Duchesne). But I think that all of Calgary, Florida, and Buffalo will want a centerman. Tampa won't want a Center (Stamkos and Lecavalier already) but rather a defenceman (they have no problems with scoring). Makes the best hope for Draft order be Colorado, Calgary, Florida, Tampa, and Buffalo.

After the first 4 (Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin, and Barkov) the next 6 or so are pretty even. Jut depends on the position the team needs to fill. So Colorado drafts Seth Jones first overall. Calgary picks Mackinnon at second. Tampa will still very much get a great defenceman (Nurse, Zarorov, Pulock, Risolainen) with a lower pick so maybe they give up fourth to drop down to 9th (as I exampled before). Then trade that 4th to Florida so the Flames can draft Drouin third overall, and then Florida still gets their centerman in Barkov at fourth overall.

It's all fantasy General Managering, but what else does a Flames fan have to look forward to with this season.

Who is it between Mac & Drouin? I would have guessed Mac is making Drouin look good but Drouin was the one that climbed to the 1st line at the WJC. Or maybe it was just Mac's versatility to play a 4th line energy role; bigger, bangs more....

It's not even the same scenario! M A Pouliot wasn't anywhere near rated what Crosby was.

I think both MacKinnon and Drouin are stars.

I'd love that, but find it hard to think that the team in third will want to drop as far down as 15th.

Regardless of what pick Feaster gets he WILL screw it up. Why? Because he is handcuffed by too many people above him.

Here's a scary idea that is very likely , feaster uses a max of one of the three picks and possibly none , trades each of the picks to teams in cap trouble for their " pre apex " players .... He's just that dumb that he will do it

I'm putting the over/under for goals against at 5.5 and I'm taking the over...

I am taking it too. But my biggest worry is that Calgary only scores 1 goal and SJS areant exactly scoring machines these day. Kipper typically plays well agaist us. Will he get the call tonight?

Kipper is in and Karlson is now with the Wings. Karlson has struggled no doubt.

The Flames are ripe for the picking.
