I watched the highlights of the blues/hawks game....shattenkirk scored the game winning shootout goal btw. Anyway, Pietrangelo looked out of sorts/position on more than one occassion, it was noticeable. Then I checked the blues stats. Shattenkirk has more points and is a plus 4 to Pietro's minus 4. Just found that interesting. If they cant work out a contract they will be responding to an offer sheet from someone
- Just5

Shattenkirk reminds me a lot of Doughty.

He and Bernier are the players I'd like Holmgren to offer sheet then try to work out a deal for this summer. LAK has to pay Quick $5.8M avg for the next 10 years after this summer.

I've also seen him appreciatively pat Grossmann on the shoulder after blocking a shot. As well as players go out of their way to tap him on the pads...
I think this is blown out of proportion.

EDIT: Shrugging and holding your arms out = "Jeez, I would have had that, but your asses were in the way."
I gotta try this at work! I cracked up when I read it cuz I could see Bryz saying it...

Send Coburn and Cousins to St. Louis for Shattenkirk. RH offensive Dman who has a good all around game. A Schenn/Shattenkirk would be a good top pairing for a long time

Intentional or not, it's still a bad goal. "incidental contact". If the goalie is not able to make a play because of the actions of a player on another team, intentional or not- the goal should be called back.
- Feeling Glucky?

At the time of the contact, the puck might have already been in the net. I'd like to see a good replay, but can't find one. And "incidental contact" is questionable. Hall was never in the crease, Reimer was on the edge, and Hall never touches Reimer but rather runs into his goal stick.

Regardless, if that goal is the only problem Leafs' fans had with last night's game - forgetting the defense they were playing against which lost its best player for the 3rd - then good luck with that.

Looking to the sky = "I should have had that."

Shrugging and holding your arms out = "Jeez, I would have had that, but your asses were in the way."

It's not like this is the first time he's done that kind of thing. He's thrown his dmen under the bus before while in Philly, and we know that some of his dmen in Phoenix weren't exactly weeping when he left to sign here. It just fits in to the overarching narrative that he's pretty moody, self-absorbed, and generally kooky.

Everyone knows I'm not a bryz supporter but I actually didn't mind his reaction. At least it shows he cares. Food for thought... I've seen lots of hasek's games and you coulD hear him anywhere you sat in the arena yelling at his dmen " gotta see! Gotta see! Whenever he was being screened. It was funny watching dman get the hell out of Way. Maybe bryz should yell it too

I was talking about perception.

Venting frustration is one thing... break your stick, throw your water bottle, look up at the sky, whatever. But gesturing in the direction of your teammates, no matter how innocuous your intentions? That's always going to be open to some negative connotations.

That would be true if it didn't fall into a larger pattern of Bryz putting himself above the team, both here and in Phoenix.

- Tomahawk

What it is, is really nothing. And again here you are labeling a emotional reaction of a unique Human being as being something. The same thing you told me I couldn't know. Because I'm not in his head. The majority of time, nonsense such as this, comes out when a player isn't playing well. Or is struggling, or isn't a popular player for whatever reason. Which even further points out the complete lack of credibility that reading a players reactions and stating what he's saying, has.

What larger pattern? Now things are just being made up.

I'm glad to see both Rosehill and Hall contributing although I still think Hall will contribute more in the long run. I don't mind giving Rosehill a boost with his goal last night. Welcme to Philly, lmao.

Classic

I just think it's funny, with everyone comparing the Schenn/JVR trade, the guy who ends up beating the Leafs is Jay Rosehill. Seriously, the guy takes out their leading scorer, draws penalties and attention from key Toronto players, and then scorers the game winning goal... !

I'd be ok with that. I used to play D on my soccer team and the WORST goalie was one who didn't talk to you. Call that! If you don't that's my problem and I will take care of it...

I think 80% of my posts in this thread are about how I'd rather have Schenn than JVR

Yep- I'm trolling!

Even after that sick shot last night?

You knew JVR would end that goal-less streak against his old team...

Gotta love how the caps can start so terribly.. put some wins together and now be leading their division and the 3rd seed while we had about the same record, win 4 and are still in 11th but only 1pt behind wash.. fack

If JVR becomes consistent, he'll be a force, and we'll run away with that trade.

Yep! Their division blows monkey chunks...
Wonder if we can get all the teams from our division in the play-offs? Sadly I think 1 sits out this dance... But I think 4 of the 5 make it.

I've been wrapping my head around this while they debated. Here's where I am with it, it's good for the fact that its on the spot, meaning the players have it fresh in their heads where they were on that play and can hopefully correct it next time. On the other hand if the goalie lets in a bad one and the players throw some jabs at him about it, he's gotta be able to take it in stride without allowing it to corrode the team cohesion. Liking a team mate is great but its trivial when what matters is whether or not the player can play.
