When Bryz is tired he gives up rebounds.
He looked exhausted last night.

I think it was a great team effort but they were fortunate to get the win.

Any updates on Mason's contract, kimmo, G-nn, Rinaldo injuries
would be grately appreciated!

I disagree. I think he is an average starting goalie (that can get hot and can get lost in the woods) that has a contract that sucks.

Fighting a losing battle, it's something some will never give up as a complaint yet without overpaying for one in a trade & nothing likely to be available in free agency have nothing better to suggest as a reasonable replacement

what's your take on the Flyers' signficant collapsing low in the D-zone? Seems like when you have a team with guys on the backend that are good at getting pucks through, like Toronto yesterday, that the Flyers' approach is ill-suited. Would like more solid pressure on the points.

Sorry if it's already been posted...
Nick Cousins will report to the AHL Phantoms after the Flyers' 2011 third-round draft pick avoided a trial on sexual-assault charges in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

The Sault Star reported Thursday that Cousins and two other Ontario Hockey League players, including Mark Petaccio of Sicklerville, would not face trial after an arrest Aug. 25, when a woman alleged she was forced to have sex.

Wonder what happened there?

It was basically determined they would not have enough to land a conviction so the charges were withdrawn

You've probably already read this, but I found it interesting.

Anton Thun, Mason's agent, said he expected the 6-foot-4, 217-pound goalie to sign a one-year deal, perhaps as soon as next week. He can become a restricted free agent if he waits until after the season, and if he did, he would not receive less than his current $3.2 million salary, which carries a $2.9 salary-cap hit.

Thun said Mason would sign for less.

I'm quite curious to see what happens in net over the remaining games and off-season.

You likely aren't the only one to have that thought.

I think other teams will score on point shot deflections on the Flyers.
I'm not a huge fan of giving too much time to the guys on the points.
Understand what their doing but don't love it.

So no one has released any dollar #s for Mason's deal yet?
I was under the impression he signed a 1 yr deal for a discount yesterday.

Still haven't heard your plan for replacing him once he is bought out. Mason?

i disagree. but i'm not getting into that now.
- wilsonecho91

Agreed...If we buy him out its more because of his contract.. He doesn't suck. What I'd love to see, is him run out of town, replaced by someone and after 10 games there'd be complaints because our 3 million dollar goalie can't win every game by himself or make every save. Then he'd suck.. and round and round it goes.. We could have Lundqvist here and he'd suck.

Nobody has one that isn't giving up the few prospects we have, that doesn't involve moving what picks we do have, & with little to nothing likely in free agency all they have is Bryz sucks.

I saw all this, and I too am interested.. I think Mason signs a two year contract at like 1.5 mil a year.. If he gets his poop together, maybe there is a decision to be made in 2014 on Bryz..

Yep.. I agree that I am not too interested in shipping out picks and parts of our young core to fix a problem that really isn't a problem.. If we ship those out, i want it to be for a set of top 2 dmen.. I expect that the org feels the same way.

You don't have to buy Bryz out right now you go next year with him and Mason and see how it goes and then and only then you consider buying him out.

That being said they need more than just Stolarz as a goalie in the system. Mathias Niederberger of Barrie is an unsigned undrafted goalie that will not cost them a pick, prospect, or anything to add to their system. They can also look to draft one to add another which like a top pair D they'll likely have to DRAFT & DEVELOP them

i'm so tired of the "bryz sucks" comments, because it's patently false. he's a very good goalie. his contract is not an albatross. and let's give him a chance to see what he can do with a solid defensive team in front of him without a million injuries and without being run into the ground because there's no backup - you know, like a championship caliber team would play and have.

and btw, i don't see the lord savior lundqvist doing much - and he's never been past the 2nd round, but that guy, man - he's the greatest. and if we had him, we'd have won 17 cups already.

for (frank)ing (frank)'s sake, enough already.

I was going to comment about Lundqvist and the fact that he hasn't done much, but is considered the best.. As a fellow goalie, I totally agree with all of your comments.. but hey.. what do we know...

Fucale from Halifax is awesome, I'm guessing he'll force a team to take him closer to the mid 1st round to be the 1st goalie off the board.
