Luke Schenn is already showing signs of being a force.
- MJL

It's true. I'm from the Toronto area, and watch a lot of Leafs games. A lot of my friends were thrilled to see Schenn leave saying he had too many turnovers and couldn't play D. Not in Philadelphia. Sure he's had mistakes here and there like all young players, but the past 5-8 games, he's really, really starting to show why he was the 5th overall pick in 2008.

So Bryz was awful again last night according to the masses, huh?

- Scoob

Wouldn't say awful, but he was average. The Kulemin reboung goal can't be played like that...

Not sure about last night but the lynch mob has their torches lit looking for the amnesty paperwork hoping to supplant him with bernier. I'd be ok with getting bernier but his scouting report being a carbon copy of bryzgalov 's makes the move purely lateral IMO.

A trade for Bernier makes more sense.
- Feanor

Bernier is not happening... if Bryz gets the ax, its more likely that we have Mason and someone like Backstrom from Minnesota, or Emery back here again

Cheaper, younger, still have room for development, shorter contract. Yea, purely lateral move.

If I get a jersey with the # 10/22 on it does it make me gay?

You're not factoring in what you have to give up to get him, then he has to be better than bryzgalov and if he doesnt pan out yes it's lateral at best. He's not gonna a whole lot cheaper either

Offer sheets for good players, usually require a very high salary in order to have a chance of succeeding. And how are you going to get around the draft pick compensation rules, in signing 2 players to Offer Sheets?
- MJL

Trade offer for one and offer sheet for the other. LA being Flyers West would be the likely trade offer and Shattenkirk might be only had for trade also.

Both are cornerstones, Shattenkirk more so, and will require us giving up major pieces but I'm fine with that.

Edit: I don't think LA wants to pay Bernier more than $3M a year consdering Quick's cap hit and term so he might be the candidate for the offer sheet. Trade for Shatt.

Why is Bernier not happening? Quick will cost LA $5.8M avg for the next 10 years. I don't see them spending a total of $9M+ for their goalies. Who do they think they are? The Flyers?

If bernier is that good, which I'm not arguing, then the flyers would be bidding against several other teams to fill a position they don't have to.

I haven't said anything but I'm listening to 590 in T.O. today and they called him the shakiest goalie they've played lately. They've been ripping his play last night since I turned it on 2 hours ago.

Was thinking with St louis getting jbo maybe shattenkirk might be available. Curious to their cap situaTion. Maybe they see signing him might be a problem?

I could easily see us missing the playoffs as the 10 or 11 seed with a better record and more points than the caps.

You'd probably be better off if people just assumed you were gay and you didn't buy that jersey.

St. Louis trading for jbo makes things interesting for sure. They have plenty if cap space so the ball is in their court.

Several other teams? Who besides Toronto and NYI and the Flyers?

We will need to fill the position when Bryz gets bought out.
