Bishop is playing pretty well for TB today... good for him.
- LetsGoBuffalo75

I am a firm believer that if you play these younger goalies 40 games a year, they would do just as well as the multi millionaire "elite" goalies

It's mostly fan girls
- Sabresfan-365

if Pommer did not have the C, then he should have been the last one of the big three to be shown the door, not the first

Just a fan

I already proposed this but whats the cost to obtain a top 5 draft pick? I.e. I want two picks in the top five.

Does STL 1st (roughly 23-26th overall) + 2 2nds + Stafford + a prospect get it done or is that not rich enough? I know that a top 5 pick in the NHL draft is pretty pricey

Holy crap just read up on how Burke got the 2nd selection to take the other sedin...seemed like he gave up next to nothing and pulled off one of the greatest trades of all time.

I was just looking at some stuff about Justin Kea, and I think he's going to be a similar style player as Foligno, but at the Center position. His numbers this year are very similar to Foligno's during his 2nd year in the OHL. It'll be interesting to see how he continues to develop.
- HonkFortheGoose

i was talking about him earlier, 3 years from now........
Foligno Klea and Girgensons

Should hopefully be a dirty line

Vancouver and Minny come to mind. Minnesota only has 9 mil to work with and no starting goaltender unless they resign Backstrom. And even if they got him to agree to something that was the same as his current deal, that takes 6M of that 9.

Flyers are projected to have 2.2 Million in cap space and they only need to sign 9-10 guys.

There's quite a few that fall into that category. But the Flyers are the top of the pack.

Vancouver is definitely another one. They have to move Lu this summer. There's no way around it at this point.

Tampa is gonna have some issues. Chicago looks to be in poor position, but none of the guys that need contracts are that big of a deal, IMO. So they may actually be ok.

I like Kesler, but his durability, or lack thereof ,is starting to rival Vanek's. I'm a lot more wary of him than I used to be.

Vanek looks to be way more durable than Kesler at this point. It's kind of a shame. I really liked Kesler. This many injuries can really ruin a player though. They get timid and shy away from things they used to do out of fear for another injury.

Came across this earlier. Not sure if anyone else saw it. Found it kind of funny.

Did anyone float any rumors of trades that were discussed yesterday for Buffalo?

Considering what their GM stated that management expects to make the playoffs next season, I think they'd trade for Vanek + MIN 1st for their 1st, which will still leave them with 3 1st round draft picks, and a high profile scoring winger
- theblueandgold

Why would we do that? (frank) that.

Like, I get that we want a top-5 pick, but we can accomplish that by tanking hard this year, we don't have to trade away our best player. That would be a terrible move IMO. I know everyone loves the big names in this draft, but you really never know whether they will be as good as expected.

Good to see he had trouble getting the puck out of the defensive zone for them as well.

I've always been a fan of Pommer, but he's having a rough year. Especially defensively.
