Vanek looks to be way more durable than Kesler at this point. It's kind of a shame. I really liked Kesler. This many injuries can really ruin a player though. They get timid and shy away from things they used to do out of fear for another injury.

He gets injured so often because he plays so many hard minutes with reckless abandon. I don't mistake him for a consistent 40 goal scorer, but 30 seems reasonable if he gets support down the middle. I'm glad Roy is here to help out a bit.

Good luck with roy9ner. He's got a lot of talent, but needs a lot of maturity. I hope for his sake he'll settle in and fully realize his potential.

Regehr was steady tonight, and as classy a professional as ever. His wife and family, still in Buffalo, deserves to be proud. I hope they'll stay, and Robyn will come back.

Pomminville looked like he needs more time to adjust to the new team. I'm sure the trade was a huge disruption. He'll be great again soon for Minny.

Yep... I am too.... But eventually this franchise had to do this rebuilding, and now's the best time to do it. It's gonna be a while of suffering, but at least we can look forward to the future. What's even worse is that I could never stop watching Sabres games to follow another team... Hopefully we have years ahead of us like the Pens and Chicago, not Edmonton and the Islanders

IMO,
Difference between those teams was the isles & oilers had mediocre defense to go w average goaltending
Pitt got themselves a decent goalie & had a fairly reliable defense to go w their studs up front
Chicago has had one of the top two defensive pairs playing 25min + a night to help out their goaltenders

Buffalo has some decent defense in place and coming soon
Ideally we could use a guy who's physical that can play top minutes w Ehrhoff... That way Myers can be on the 2nd pair & not have as much pressure on him

And I'd still prefer Bernier to be our next guy in net
Maybe Hackett + can get him in the offseason

He got there earlier than the CBJ guys did to NY, and had alot more time to prepare... I know Brassard got there 1 hour before game time. That didn't stop him from getting 4 pts...
