I would try Burrows Hank Kesler 1 st unit with BieksaGarrison

Daniel Roy Kassian with Edler and Tanev second unit

Reason to split the Sedins is they spend too much time passin on a two minute chance.

- VANTEL

I'd rather have Tanev on the first unit, IMO Garrison needs a pass-first D-man with him to set him up for one timers. I also think that Garrison needs to be on the opposite unit from the Sedins since they forget to use their d-men in the offensive zone at times and spend most of the time down low with the puck. I'd try something like this:

First Unit

Daniel - Henrik - Kesler
Edler - Bieksa

Second Unit
Burrows/Raymond/Hansen - Roy - Kassian
Garrison - Tanev

First unit should be solid, Bieksa is very good at holding the puck in the zone and Edler has some chemistry with the Twins. Two right shots on the ice should work well with the Sedins.

Second unit has Garrison getting set up from Roy or Tanev with Kassian screening the goalie, plus you play the hot hand out of those 3 wingers with this unit.

True but the afternoon show was saying that.

Why give up a couple of 2nd rounders now for a horrible contract when he can be had for a 3rd in the summer.
Gillis is the only GM dumb enough to want that contract.

- Fakepartofme

I think it's safe to say that Luongo will be getting moved to Toronto by Gillis.

I like it. That third line created some havoc with their speed when paired before.

Serious question, how is Cam Barker doing with you guys? Any semblance of the guy who got 40 points in Chicago a few years back? I know he's got 2 points in 7 gp and is a +2, but I want to know moreso how he looks.
- mykokes

He still looks completely lost in his own zone to me and hasn't been impressive offensively either IMO, I'd rather play Alberts over him. At least Alberts can throw some hits, but the puck on his stick is like a grenade.

I don't think anything has been made official yet. Murph usually tweets it as soon as AV reveals his lineup.

We can speculate about lines all we want. For the most part, they last 5 minutes anyways.

Forget about traditional numbered lines... Too inside the box to make the most of what we have at our disposal. Find complimentary skillsets and let them loose.

Sedin Sedin Burrows

Jensen Roy Kesler (if Jensen can earn it, otherwise Raymond slots in)

Higgins Lapierre Hansen (shutdown line)

Raymond Schroeder Kassian

bummer, I was hoping he'd turn it around. I'm not surprised he didn't become a superstar d-man, but I'm shocked at what he has become, or developed into especially with how promising his junior career was, his size and even a few seasons in Chicago.

Ian,

No disrespect intended but I think you are way off base when it comes to Luongo and teams not wanting him. No one is questioning his ability to play goal. He's got 3-4 good years left (minus the year that's been burned due to the lockout but mostly due to playing backup). The problem has been and always will be the amount of years left on the contract. Luongo knows it, Gillis knows it, every other GM in the NHL knows it.

Who in their right mind will want to pay that contract or even worst have the contract count against the cap until the year 2022? Can you honestly say that if the tables were reversed and the Canucks were looking for help in goal, given the fact that you have two goalies that although they are unproven have been doing more than an adequate job during the regular season, you'd want the Canucks to make the trade?

Luongo said it himself yesterday that his contract is what is screwing him. Gillis can downplay it all he wants but blaming it on the emotions of a stressful day but it`s the truth.

If there is any team out there willing to even give one 7th round pick (assuming the NHL approves such a trade) for Luongo, Gillis should jump over it. The assets in return going to the Canucks would be valuable cap space and losing the distraction in the dressing room.

Here`s to hoping that Nonis passes on Luongo this summer and let`s Gillis suck on that contract until 2022.

It's very easy to understand and it should be very clear...nobody wants a Goaltender with a 35 year contract....after all it is a contract. Gillis was an idiot and now he is paying for it...exactly why the owners locked the players out. Now, Vancouver fans and bloggers cmplain that nobody wants him.

Hey I have a second house that is really nice...pool on the top floof with a great bar and sound system...and 5,000 sq ft of living space...and it has a reasonable monthly payment...oh, one thing...the morthgage is for 125 yeas....still want it?

Could not agree more with your blog. I am thankful that they did not move Lou for quite frankly crap, he is worth more and everyone in hockey knows his worth. Luongo is not a deadline deal he is a draft or summer deal.

I have no problem with those lines at all. Especially if Jensen can play well, those are 4 really solid lines.

I can't see Jensen getting top 6 minutes over Raymond. I could really see the 3 youngsters being used situationally in 4th line minutes.

Unfortunately, AV will butcher it to the point where we don't even realize we have the pieces to create 4 decent lines.

I like it DTC. The problem is, it makes to much sense and that doesnt bode well for the current coaching staff. I have a hard time believing that AV will ever put Kesler on the wing for regular shift and I also don't see anyone without at least 4 years in the league getting any ice time at all.

His decision making is often too slow. I have been happy with how he makes the simple play in the offensive zone most times though.
