As long as this doesnt turn into a losing streak Im not terribly upset. Would have liked a better effort but whatevs. Tough go for a playoff spot though. Their remaining games (Calgary and Colorado aside) are all against very good teams.

It'll be a good test, if you guys make your way in then you definitely earned it down this stretch. You do have a ton of home games

Canucks do play bigger with Kassian and Pinny. I noticed against a game in LA they were not outsized and answered back . We won it . The last game against the Kings.
- VANTEL

Yeah, I think they're sick of the soft label, even the Twins weren't taking poop from Doughty in that game. Kesler should help that even more, the guy loves to dive but he's still brings that cocky attitude and doesn't take poop from anybody either. Pinny hasn't impressed me much, but he hasn't been horrible either and has some skill for a 4th liner.

Anything can happen.

Good for you for coming in here when your team is down. Shows you got balls . Saturday was a troll fest with some of the Oiler fans but tonight you are the only one.

Meh. Win or lose I'll discuss. Your forums rep is ill deserved imo.

Hell we just beat the Edmonton Oilers. How hard could it be?
- AlexF

Oilers have been playing really well as of late though so not a bad win at all.

I'd like Horcoff on my team, but his cost is prohibitive. Hemsky not so much.

Agreed. Good showing on your part Sanfordnson. I had the Oilers penned in for a playoff spot when the season started. You guys are getting better.

Honestly, if the Oilers scored first this game could have been a little different but with the Roy addition, Bure being here and the embarrassing loss to the Oilers last game this one had Canucks win written all over it.

Pinny was great that first game against the Preds but that was it. Can't wait for Kes to get back into this line up. Even with the diving he has the potential to dominate when healthy. Jensen will be sent down when Raymond comes back I'm assuming. He's good positionally in his own end but definitely behind by a step or two.

Horcoff would be a solid 3LC for sure, I'd take him at a reduced salary anyday.

Horc is unarguably overpaid but thats not his fault. He plays a very valuable role in Edmonton. Way too many armchair money managers around.

Totally agree with this. Also Weise is injured and AV seems to prefer him over Pinny and Sestito since he uses him on the PK. Barker was also very mediocre tonight, for an offensive d-man he doesn't do much with the puck and is very shaky defensively, hopefully Alberts is back in next game or Ballard is healthy enough to get back in.

No kidding. Thankfully it wasn't and it's a boost moving forward. Kesler back in a few weeks could be a team getting hot when it counts.

The improvement is there no doubt. Sucks to Halls streak end. Hed been flat out beastly for a while. Im just happy we're in the playoff convo. An actual spot would just be a happy ending after alovely back massage.

I wish Ballard had a longer leash. I like Alberts physicality but can't stand how many times he fails to clear the zone and ends up running around in his own end. Barker fell off so badly. Don't know what happened after that first year (maybe 2) in Chicago

I'm honestly pulling hard for the Oilers as an 8th seed so they can play Chicago in the first round.

This. My buddy is a huge Hawks fan and the Oil match up so well with them.. It'd be fun to have him tearing his hair out at the hands of the kids in EDM. This city gets pretty crazy come playoff time when the Oil are in it. Definitely fun to be around.

Luongo on Edmonton still scares me, he would help that team big time. On and off the ice, plus mentally knowing that they have a guy with his pedigree playing in net could do a ton for a young team but of course... his "contract sucks".

He's also a goalie who plays much better when he's playing 60+ games per season and facing 30+ shots.
