Their drafting has been decent the last 2 seasons.

Aside from Mark Jankowski. Baertschi, Granlund, Brossoit, Gillies, Wotherspoon all have pretty good shots. Drafting lately hasn't been the problem. Let's just hope they pick up Janko 2.0,3.0, and 4.0 with their 3 firsts this year

Lol. Low expectations, no disappointment.

I love people who had Hall as the worst of Ebs, Nuge, and Yak. Only Stamkos and Crosby have a better PPG. If I hear another habs fan suggest Hall for a package centred around Tinordi, I'll kill myself.

If EDM makes the playoffs, I'll dance down the streets buck naked. They're playing phenomenally. Finishing 17th or 18th is a huge sep up from last year. I was expecting a 22nd place finish, so they're proving me wrong.

haha ya I know. Janko was off the board but whatever, latest rankings from that draft have him at #25 now, so he wasn't far off. Plus they traded down and got a punishing d man in Seiloff in return, he is another great prospect as well.

Also don't forget Gaudreau

Nice to see the Oilers clobber the Flames last night, but if they really want to hurt the Flames they need to take a playoff spot from the Blues and cost the Flames the 1st they got in the JayBo deal. It's conditional on the Blues making it in. Now that would be sweet!

I would think after the garbage that feaster has just taken in the last week for j-bo and iginla you would at least by now stop defending him for that idiotic, stupid, moronic trade down to get Mark "the janitor" Jankowski move in last years draft.
Enjoy the rebuild er uh I mean re-tool for the next few years. Quality UFA's won't be lining up to come to Calgary anymore until the team gets better so ya better hope it is a quick turn around.

not much they can do about this accept just win their own games as they don't play st.lu again this year. I honestly think they have a better chance of taking a spot from detroit or even minny now that Danny "vehicular homicide" Heatley seems to be out for a while. St-lu has games in hand.

Ha ha whatever dude! They re-ranked last years draft and had Jankowski at 25th. Not to mention they got Seiloff out of it. Not a bad move IMO

Ok fine stick with it then. But until the janitor makes the NHL and does something I am gonna continue to bring it up.
And no shot against the city of Calgary about having trouble attracting UFA's now as I think people that trash a city like that are just (frank)ing moronic bumholes, but can't ignore the fact it won't be as attractive as before after losing Iggy, J-bo and most likely Kipper and it will be a tough turn around to get better fast.

NCAA is a different animal. Also, as a freshmen, ice time is hard to come by and they most likely won't get to play in important situations. Not to mention strength of competition, what conference they are in etc. etc. etc.

I didn't really follow Janko's season (because it's hard to), or that other 3rd round god the Oilers picked. But i'm not just going to sit here and agree that kid is better because he had more points.

You're probably right...nobody wants to come here and get shellacked all year. But it's a good opportunity to get some playing time and have a large roll, where as other places guys could get buried behind others. Still a nice city too

I hope they don't sign a bunch of FA's anyway. This team doesnt need guys who have been in the league for 8 years. They need young guys that are hungry. Not just going through the paces.

Yeah it's an ok town, except Deerfoot in the summer during construction season
I think the worst part out of it all is losing Kipper for nothing as it seems is gonna happen. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but still that has to sting a bit.

Khaira was a freshman too. Didn't say he was better, although he might be Janko was a bad pick, I said he had a better season. 25P in 37GP versus Janko's 18P in 34GP.

EDIT: Also Janko was playing in H-East also known as H-Easy

He did say that it would hurt any player to know they're not wanted by other teams so it wouldn't surprise me to see him play the rest of this year with a chip on his shoulder.
