Stafford because he's way inconsistent.

Leino because the whole experiment has been a failure.

Gerbe not for lack of effort, but at the end of the day the points aren't there.

- Buffalo--Sabres

can't have that much money tied up in a guy who can't stay healthy... Leino does not fit the futur eof this team.

So.....

Of the "old core"

It seems that only Patrick Kaleta would be accepted to remain on the team during this rebuilding process....

I don't know WTF people want to get rid of Vanek.

I want to keep him 100%.

serious question

Has anyone on this board heard or knew anything about Matt Hackett or Johan Larsson before yesterday?

- mhp

Larsson yes, just from watching one World Jr tourney.

Stop being so serious. Doesn't suit you.

I think MAYBE if we overpay and give him a starring role, he'll stick around.
- nfph

I don't think ott will have a problem staying here. The guy seems to love the blue collar mentality and he played in Dallas when they sucked so he's prolly used to it.

Hackett yes Larsson no not really. Hackett was touted to be the heir apparent in net for the wild. He slowed down a tad but was also stuck behind Backstrom and Harding (before his MS)
- Stripes77

Hackett was moved down the depth chart by Darcy Kuemper this year, Hackett was rock in the AHL last year.

Anyone think that if we keep Leino around that it might be a good experiment to play him on the left wing with Armia on his opposite side? I feel like the obvious nationality chemistry would benefit both of them. Plus, think about Leino saucing that puck to Armia. Gets me too excited

Maybe add another Rusky in Barkov to that mix or a Fin with Nishuskin...

maybe the winning touch is a Canadian in Drouin and Zadorov.

If all 3 pan out as they are projected we have a hell of a playmaking center a kid who can bury the puck at will and a good 2 way center who will gladly skate through a brick wall to get to a loose puck

That being said I think Girgenson is the one that is 2-3 years away. I think he made a mistake in not going to play college for a year or 2

We are rebuilding and Vanek isn't worth his salary IMO. He's just frustrating, for 10 games he's the best player in the world, the next 10 he is invisible with some nagging injury

Vanek cant be a captain of a team he wont be on.
- Mentalorgasm5

Not sure his relentless suckholing, streaky scoring, and 60ft of ice game scream "Captain" to me, either.

Well, you can't take ALL the talent away - throwing those new guys to the wolves with no buffer is a good way to screw up their development.

Armia - Grigorenko - ??
Girgensons - Hodgson - ??
Foligno - Larsson - Tropp or Flynn or new guy

I am hoping were we are gonna finish, 5 is my guess, I hope we get Valeri Nichushkin, he might be the best forward in the draft.

edit: oh wait he is a euro, so that means i dont like him.

Very good point. There were terrible in Dallas. He enjoys playing against the Bostons and Torontos. Plus his "bro" Weber is here
