Had to chuckle during the post game interview with Simmonds last night. That cut above his lip needed stitches and he's out doing interviews. Love it !! Don Cherry will be all over that on Coaches Corner on Saturday Night. Good Ole Canadian Boy right there for ya !!!

Watching Simmonds play makes me wish the Flyers had drafted him.

The Flyers drafted Kevin Marshall ahead of him and that didn't seem to work out too well.

I like this line. I'm really not sure why and I think Couturier gets another one tonight.

Sounded like they would be all along so hopefully thats true if indeed he is innocent....Cousins is a really good prospect I dont understand why he isnt talk about more. Maybe it was cause of the legal troubles he's a little on the arrogant side though...think he is going to tick some people off at this level.

Could really get fun round here if they start Mason tonight, he plays really well and they win.

I'll tell you what has happened. The team around him has played better, and more responsible defensively. And all of a sudden a player like Gervais looks a lot better. Doesn't mean there still won't be some bad games or some lapses. But Gervais is not the stiff he's been labeled as.
- MJL

Amazing how all the D look better now that the forwards arecplaying more responsibly.

Good for him. This is why we shouldnt rush to judge, none of us were there, none of us knows what really happened.

Simmonds was the best Flyer on the ice last night.

Have they announced the starting goalie yet?
Someone in the Pens thread is saying it is Mason.

Dunno if that is speculation or what, But I hope they do....people on the Flyers FB page were lamenting about us trading for Bob's Backup LOL which I get, but Mason is actually a Technically sound goalie who had a great rookie season. When you park S**t Teams in front of your young goalie season after season, YEAH, he is bound to struggle...They did slightly overpay but he is good goalkeeper..Hope the change in sweater/city revitalizes this guy..But this IS Philly so we'll have to see

No, it was just Coburn in the lineup.
- mikel33

The way this team is playing You can keep them all out of the lineup. Let Gus and OL play. When you actually got Gervais playing like an actual NHL defenceman you don't mess with that!

Anybody else starting to get that were this a regular season we'd still have more than enough games on hand to turn this around and make the playoffs? We are a hot/cold team (as a lot of young teams are) and we have always had hot and cold streaks throughout the year.
- flyler

Yes, but short schedule or not, this is not a playoff caliber team defensively. I don't have much faith that a player like Gervais will continue to play over his head and the forwards' newfound commitment to two-way play will last.
