If there is ever such a thing as a designated faceoff guy....Handzus is it. Saw come on to take a couple of draws tonight and then head for the bench.

I know the playoffs are tougher, but a healthy first line, with Toews playing at unreal levels lately, can get inside on anybody
- rollpards19

I sure hope so. Luckily we won't have to face LA or Anaheim until round 3, maybe round 2 for LA. But hopefully some other lines than the Toews line will drive to the net In the playoffs. Line 3 has been great all year. Hopefully they keep it up in round 1

The last few games have me a little worried about Shawzer, looks like he maybe hit a wall. I'd consider moving him to wing

If Sharp starts taking draws we could actually become one of the better teams in the league

the invisible man = dave bolland; the failed 2C experiment needs to end...Q seems to want to use Handzus as a 4th line wing and designated faceoff guy with Kruger

Moving Bolland back to the 3rd line causes problems...does Stals move up to the 2nd with Kane and Sharp? If you put Krug up there with Sharp and Kane and maybe Sharp takes draws but that messes up the 4th line.

Handzus looked good centering Bicks and Stals, thats a line I could see succeeding in playoff hockey. That makes the 4th line awful small (we could use a banger Stan). IDK!!! With Bolland playing like he is there just isn't a way to fix the holes. IMO were short a top 6 player and a fourth line banger, doesn't mean we can't win, but the that's where the holes are to me

Q's feel for the 3rd man in the shootout was TERRIBLE...

What did Shaw do to warrant the chance ?

Vik ties the game, Hoss is coming back and playing strong and Zeus is making his debut...ANY of them would have been a more inspired pick

If I had to guess Sharp is back Sunday...I doubt they want to play him in BTB gmes.

That means bye bye Bollig...and we may not have many Carcillo sightings...Mayers I think is done!

Yeah bollig is no big loss. I like Carcillo and still hope he gets some playing time. Question is who would sit? I still want to see Morin get some more games, too, but there is no room for him

Yeah he has been off. Maybe he is still sick? I take it that is the line from Miracle in your avitar? Great movie. I still can't believe what a focal point of that team Jack O'Callahan was. He never seemed to be such a badass with the Hawks

What has happened to the third line? Early in the season this line would carry the team some nights. In the last 10 games Bickell has no goals while Shaw and Stalberg each have one. We need this line to produce more offensively, while its not their main duty to score they need to do better than this. These three guys have shown they can score, Q needs to do something to light a fire under them.

No panic here...just want them to rediscover their 3rd period mojo...especially in front of the home fans.

Now that being said, Crawford is making me a bit nervous. Gotta wonder if Q would pull the plug and let Emery start in the first round...Craw better tighten it up so Q doesn't ponder the thought.

Tonight the Hawks were the better team, but Elliott was the better tender...

2 big points for the Blues.

Time to sweep the E"rat" free Preds this weekend...Go Hawks.

Maybe, either way he needs to pick it up. I'm a college kid so Miracle is THE hockey movie for my generation. My dad went to BU with all those guys and said OC was the same center of the room, cocky (in a cool way) presence they made him out to be

I'm with Al on this one...don't think Bolland is really healthy. My hunch is he's playing hurt and doing his best.

The question then...is Bolland hurting the team? That's up to Q and Co. to decide. I'll be curious as to where they play Sharp when he returns. If he's at 2C then would Handzus move to 3C?

We will have our answers soon enough.

Because of his habit of either hitting the tender in the chest, or missing the net entrirely. ...just sayin'

But he looks great doing it! I'll give him that much.

I was 18 in 1980, so "The actual Miracle" was my generation...

Your father played for the BU hockey team?

My other problem with tonights performance was the PP. Clownshoes yet again...

The PP produces and this game was Ovah...but sadly no.

I'm of the opinion, and I know this sounds meatballish, but if your hurt you don't play, if you play your not hurt. He needs to be better, and if the reason is health the coaches need to sit him and let him get some rest. We need him to be the guy he can be to win a cup.

My father was a practice player for a year, then quit, but he knew all those guys

I basically agree, and that's pretty much my point. If he's hurting, then he may hurt the team by being less than 100%...Q's call at that point.

Is your dad still friends with Jack, who lives and works in the Chicago area I believe?

In all seriousness, if Q gave Frolik a chance or two I wouldn't criticize. It was nice to see Hossa bury his shot...

...we all know he can get the job done 1/3...which isn't bad in this league.
