and in other action...Bluejackets beat the Preds 3-1....I have said this for 2 weeks now: jackets make the playoffs and will face the hawks....

kings smok'n the wild in the 2nd 3 zip and those high scoring yotes spank'n the wings 3-1 in the 3rd...coyotes do not make the playoffs

Care not about the lost point in a shoot-out: care a lot about 2 third period goals given up.

Turn it around, boys.

- StLBravesFan

Exactly. It is the two 3rd period goals that is troubling. But with most of these 3rd periods it isn't like the other team totally dominates the Hawks all period. Tonight everything was in control until rozy gives up a breakaway then St. Louis gets a little mo. Last game against Nashville crawford let in the worst goal to give them mo

Its because 5-on-5 they outplay their opponents more often than not. Also, in those long playoff OTs, I'd rather have a fresh Michael Frolik or Marcus Kruger to throw out there than anyone else's 4th line. The depth will be a huge advantage if we stay healthy. We just plain suck at the SO for such a good team.
- andru2797

When Sharp comes back it will be a huge help to our depth. Aside from the obvious benefit of Sharp in the line up Frolik can move back to the bottom 6 and focus on his defense game. I've been a big Bolland support but I think something is wrong with him, he's playing some of the worse hockey of his career. Maybe it's time to shake think up when Sharp returns.

Saad - Toews - Hossa (this line is beastly)
Shaw - Sharp - Kane (Sharp needs to go back to C)
Bickell - Bolland - Stalberg
Kruger - Handzus - Frolik

I think it's time for players to start playing to their strengths a bit more. We have a shot at the Cup so the boys need to check their egos at the door. I'm thinking if returning Bolland to a shut down and Sharp to centre (we'd have 3 centres at 50%+).

Coming back from a shoulder injury I can't see sharp being put in such a physically demanding role.

It does seem very possible we face Columbus. I guess any team can give any team problems in the playoffs. They are a team that has only seen the playoffs once in the last decade I think. And I don't think Bob's great play lasts for them. But they have given us a lot of problems this year

Time to get Ray Emery ready for the playoffs. Crow the last few weeks has been spotty, at best.

You out shoot someone 34-22, you need to win the game.

Ray gives the team a better chance to win every night.

Missed a disappointing third, exciting coin flip, captain was amazing, Bolland was invisible
- rollpards19

2 good teams on the ice. Blues have a solid defence corps but they made their share of mistakes.

Nothing good to comment on? Like Bickell and Stalberg's play in the 3rd period. Those 2 did a pretty good job physically late in the game.

If craw is not in net tonight they lose in regulation. Craw is not the problem. The team D and PP are.

I'm not worried about Crawford. Once the defense returns to the form they played at the start of the season goaltending will be just fine.

Might as well give up trying to reason.. to a lot of people this is just a soft team that can't beat anyone in a 7-game series because of all those scary hits they'll face.

Not to mention the horrible starting goaltender with the 2.01 GAA and .922 SV%.

Adding Raffi Torres or Ryan Clowe is what would have put them over the top to win the Cup! Don't you see?!

I was just doing a quick summary. Thank god they woke up because they were terrible in the first two. Toews played like the best player in the world. Bolland was bad, again. Zus looked really good. Fro not great

Actually, i care more about the POINT GAINED thanks to Vik's equalizer...but this team has to START taking away TIME AND SPACE from opposition point men.

Nobody on Souray. He wires home the winner late in the 3rd.

Nobody on (i think) Pietrangelo. Backes cleans up.

You want to win in the playoffs...you can't let point men operate so freely.

- philco28

I agree. I think the forwards play way too low. I guess they figure since the Hawk D-men can't get shots through from the point then no other team's D can, either. Their D have so much time and space to get shots off

If Sharp isn't going to centre the 2nd line then I think Q needs to try another option, even if its just for a period or two as a trial. I've said before that Shaw and Kane seemed to click, maybe it's worth trying him? Just thinking out loud here.

Yes - same thing on the PK - during the streak they WERE closing on the points both 5 on 5 and PK - that was one of the reasons the PK was so improved.

Unbelievable team D during 'The Streak' 4 sure STL

The Blues 4th line were the guys who were really good in the first 2 periods.

And maybe somebody can explain to me what value Bollig brings in a game like this one.

Thought Shaw had his problems in the 3 hole tonight.

I don't disagree with you. I'd even be willing to try Kruger there as well.

I don't want to move Kane into the center spot. I kind of like Sharp on the wing as well. I think wiz put it best. Less responsibility for Sharp so he can concentrate on shooting the puck.

If only Sharp would quit hitting the damn post.

Bolland just doesn't look right. Maybe its worth resting him...unless its the kind of injury that won't get better anyway.

I think that now is the time to give emery a real shot at taking the number one job away from Corey. He hasn't looked great the last couple games and emery has only lost once.
