Actually, i care more about the POINT GAINED thanks to Vik's equalizer...but this team has to START taking away TIME AND SPACE from opposition point men.

Nobody on Souray. He wires home the winner late in the 3rd.

Nobody on (i think) Pietrangelo. Backes cleans up.

You want to win in the playoffs...you can't let point men operate so freely.

yep...you are right philco...go back look at the third period goals they have given up this year and more than half of them originated from a point shot

How did Zues look tonight??

12:50 of ice time, had a great chance on the rush in regulation, fired high but Elliot stopped him......great at the dot ALL NIGHT.....had a chance in the shootout...tried to go top glove and was denied. Was moving well too IMO.

On the ice for the tying goal, Q already trusts him

nope no OT losses....
- bogiedoc

Its because 5-on-5 they outplay their opponents more often than not. Also, in those long playoff OTs, I'd rather have a fresh Michael Frolik or Marcus Kruger to throw out there than anyone else's 4th line. The depth will be a huge advantage if we stay healthy. We just plain suck at the SO for such a good team.

How was his play...does he look slow on the ice?
- southernhawk

Not at all surprisingly. Maybe a shot at the 2nd line is in order.. He seems faster than Bolland. Bigger and wins FOs

Bogie..it's like a 3 point assassin in basketball...shooting without anyone contesting anything...he's gonna drain a lot of baskets without a hand in his face.

A great stat, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that they have an advantage over almost any team when playing 4-on-4 hockey. Won't matter much in 5-on-5 sudden death playoff OT, just saying.

I don't think he could handle 2nd center minutes.....I was surprised he got 12 plus TOI tonight...Q is is going to slot him according to situation like when a defensive zone draw win is a must

Lost in an s/o...blew a 2-1 3rd period lead...Vik tied it late....

19 and 88 scored in the s/o...Craw gave up 2 in response...
Hoss BURIED his try in the s/o...but Shattenkirk's 6th round goal sunk us

Opposing d-men have all day to shoot vs the Hawks.

It's been a problem for awhile.

Yes - same thing on the PK - during the streak they WERE closing on the points both 5 on 5 and PK - that was one of the reasons the PK was so improved.

I know trailer park residents who would die to have a fine mullet like that.

Sh1t, Kaner is even jealous of that thing.

If the 3rd period crap doesn't stop were in big trouble

And that will be their playoff demise. Losing to a larger and more physical team.
It's one thing to play a larger team that checks you out of your own building once every 5-6?games during the season. But in a best of 7 series it's a different story.
The hits start to hurt more as the series goes on and you start looking for who's coming at you, which eventually turns into rushed plays and poor decisions to turn overs and sustained pressure and goals.
Look at the last 3 cup teams.

Missed a disappointing third, exciting coin flip, captain was amazing, Bolland was invisible
