Probably, but he's been getting a free pass from the Chicago Active Sticks for too long now. He runs around all game and NOBODY does a phuck'n thing about it.

Yeah, but he is very clean about his running around.

Fairly clean...not an angel...he's a tough, hard-nosed player and Chicago has not shown the sac to stand up to him...yet. One of these nights, i hope they do. Maybe tonight, but i doubt it.

That is fine, I just don't see it. Like I said, the only guy that really takes liberties in my mind is Jackman. That is a big part of his game, walking right up to the edge of the line, and sometimes crossing it. But Backes plays a clean game for the most part.

Post whistle bs is common, and not just a Blues thing. It probably happens more because of the fact that we are rivals.

- carcus

Post-whistle B.S. is not really a Blackhawks' thing anymore though--for better or for worse. I mean both Bollig and Carillo have been reined in quite a bit. I think the Blues get up for the Blackhawks, and because they do have players whose style is quite a bit more physical than most of the 'Hawks it gets pretty rough--before and after the whistle.

That all rides on the evolution of #8. I look at #8 and #2 as either or. If Leddy can be a top guy then Keith is expendable, however, one of the big things that made the hawks so successful in 2010 is that they had two of the top five skating dmen in the league. Keith and Campbell are lights out skaters and now with Leddy and Keith it is the same thing except Leddy isnt quite in his prime yet.
- nickmo2699

Way off base....

No top pairing D-man is ever "expendable".

Definitely not an angel. Hockey players rarely are.

To date, yes. Elliott has been bad, and Halak has been up and down & dealing with groin injuries.

Only 23 more points and he moves in to top 20 all time Hawks (which will probably be hit with a playoff run).

Best player in the NHL right now. Should he continue at this level or dip slightly still kind of a big deal.

If he averages 70 points the next two years (assuming 0 more this year) that would put him as 9th all time Hawks and probably worth a big pile of paper portraits of past presidents.

I had class so I'm late responding, but this is a joke right? He's at best the second best player on his own team, I (and others on this board) would argue he's not even the best at his position on the team. In a franchise draft he'd go about 20th at the highest.

I like it...my only thing is i WANT Carcillo TRUSTED and in the lineup over Bollig.

Love Bollig, but given the choice...i prefer Car Bomb.

- philco28

Totally agree, said this on the last blog. Carcillo has looked good the last few games and appears to be back up to speed. The guy finishes checks and has a bit of skill. Think he should be in the lineup. Not sure who that leaves out though.

I loved Flick from his days in Missy, but i don't feel his skating is a problem.

He's also got an above average wrist shot and scored a beauty goal this year for Rockford, but soon found himself in/out of the lineup. Hard to get into rhythm when you're playing 12 minutes one night and 3 the next.

- philco28

He is another guy that had to get a couple steps in to going, to me.
And in working the wall, you have to be able to go from your own front, to the corners when the puck dicates, and on different views he seened to not be able to do that quickly...
I am not trying to pooh-pooh Thor because I liked him too.

Like I said, we never really know the inside reasons minor fram team pros get moved...you think there might have been everything from locker room, to anger to the coach, to , "hey, I need a change..."

The only way we get that transparency is the enxt time you see him, you ask him....

Believe me, more stuff gets un-earthed from taking to the kids or their families than you could imagine....

I think what teams have done the last couple years to the hawks in the playoffs is hit their stars hard and hit them often.... The thought being take out the top 2 lines and let the bottom 6 try and beat us. The results the last 2 seasons for the hawks top 4 reg season scorers.... Toews 3 goals in 13 games, Kane 1 goal, Hossa 2, and Sharp 4. These guys get zero time and space to make anything happen when teams play them physical. A banger down low would've helped tremendously. Jmo.
- moylander

All fair points. I was one of the doubters in the beginning, but Saad has really won me over. I honestly think his speed and determination will help this team a lot in the playoffs (I'm personally shocked I think this). Still needed a big body to go with 10 and 88 though.

Love it...hope he has more success at this next stop. My worry all along for Flicker IS can he maintain his drive through this early adversity in his career ?

Some guys improve in junior like he did, then get drafted, go to the minors...encounter a tough new challenge...and then fade away. I hope he perseveres and blossoms again, just like he did in junior.
