A few weird clauses. - golfingsince
I believe there was an "out clause" in his contract, actually two. One for Luongo to opt out and one for the team(IIRC the Luongo opt out option comes first). Not sure if those clauses are still legal under the new CBA though and what the cap ramifications are either if either clause would be exercised.
I remember reading about this last year, but maybe I'm totally off and just making poop up subconsciously. |

even with a bryz and Briere 6.5 million buyout... - jribout
Cool. Holmgren would never make a trade. |

They could buy out Bryz and they've got the space. |

Your pessimism is getting cartoon-ish. The Canucks aren't that bad. There is no reason to believe that they can't make a series out of it in Round 1 with no opponent even lined up yet. - micah555
Just because I don't agree with your opinion does not classify it as cartoonish.
I remember when two yars ago I was saying trade Lu keep Schneider and argued with everyone except Dshiddy and DCT . Next thing other started to agree .
We are a very weak team for scoring . The last year and a half should help you see that. We did very little to improve scoring. So we will continue to go 1 for 37 on the PP and win about .500 % of our games. |

Exactly, IMO Gillis should have taken what ever Toronto was willing to give up. Hopefully he makes us all eat crow by moving him for a decent return at the draft. |

Edler is the best offensive D, but he's inconsistent defensively—looks like a Norris candidate some nights, and he's lost others.
Hamhuis is their steadiest all-around. Has been since he arrived. |

I would pay money to see Holmgren go to snider to ask for the $ to buy out Bryz to take on Luongo's contract. |

Roy and Kesler bro. If Kesler is back to form it's a whole new ball game. - golfingsince
Didn't we have Kes Booth last year . I didn't see a ton of scoring then . We are a team that struggles to score . Kes and Roy won't help on a little. |

Backstrom to Philly or Washington makes a ton of sense if the Wild let him walk. |

Therein lies the biggest problem.
Someone over on HF boards crunched some numbers and figured that at even strength, the Sedins were nearly identical to their point totals the year Henrik won the Hart (was over a week ago, so could be out of date by now).
Seriously, if they fix the powerplay, this team is scoring quite a bit more, and winning more games. |

Having Kelser on the team should help in terms of playing against the top line, getting better starts, PK, PP.
Roy should help provide some offense, hopefully not hurt us defensively. He should also help the PP.
These moves should both help Henrik out tremendously. |

Hamhuis? You must be mistaken.
Most Canucks fans absolutely worship the guy. Was 10th in Norris voting last season. |
