Hence my question how much further back can we go..... Lu is a future problem.... When the contract was signed it was great... To bad you got screwed by the new CBA... But you have to admit that contract is a huge problem.....

I was going to reserve judgement on the Roy deal until I saw what the Canucks did today. Now that they've done nothing, I really don't like it. Does he make us a better team? Absolutely. However, they needed a couple more pieces to make them a legit cup contender.

So basically the Canucks, who's prospect pool is almost laughable, gave up a decent prospect and a 2nd round pick for a guy that will help the Canucks maybe win one round. The defence is still the same, the Sedins still aren't scoring and we still have a 5 million dollar backup goaltender.

Desperate rental by Gillis, but I'm still excited to see what he can do.

The new CBA means that there's a cap penalty. If you have paid more money than been charged cap hit, the difference is spread over the remaining years of the contract against your cap.

It would have been if there was a followup deal . Maybe some fans here don't mind giving up picks for things that won't significantly help us now ,I am not one.

I felt go all in or stay the course . We did neither.

In fact, if I was the Canucks, I’d talk to him tomorrow and it would go a little something like this…

I see it as an issue for Lu, but not for the Canucks. It's not currently stopping them from competing. Who knows what the future holds, but they'll deal with it in due time. If they have to waive him in the fall because there's no takers, then they waive him. What's the big deal?
