I was going to reserve judgement on the Roy deal until I saw what the Canucks did today. Now that they've done nothing, I really don't like it. Does he make us a better team? Absolutely. However, they needed a couple more pieces to make them a legit cup contender.

So basically the Canucks, who's prospect pool is almost laughable, gave up a decent prospect and a 2nd round pick for a guy that will help the Canucks maybe win one round. The defence is still the same, the Sedins still aren't scoring and we still have a 5 million dollar backup goaltender.

Desperate rental by Gillis, but I'm still excited to see what he can do.

I feel good not great.... Haven't seen any Leaf posters bring up the past 10 years.... Just wondering how long it will be until the 1967 vs presidents trophy takes up 10 pages of this blog.....

I have actually seen both play this year.... Corrado 3 times, blacker several..... Bottom line is there both prospects and at this time you cannot say one is better than the other.....

So what. He helps the scoring problem, the second pp and creates a second line until Kes comes back. Then he can either be a playmaking winger with kesler or vice versa or center the third. The team is better regardless of deadline acquisition and with a little luck and a healthy team the canucks have the same chances as any team.

Agreed... would have been nice to move Luongo for your future, and maybe get another forward but you still look good for the playoffs if Kes comes back, Booth would be a bonus
