As a young fan, that was my first cup run so it burns a little more.

Ahhh, I've been through it twice before, it still stings, but the '94 run was more magical for me, those guys were heroes (well sports icons anyway)!

The guy had 17 points in 25 games. His two OT goals came playing on different lines. An OT goal in the Stanley Cup finals is huge, regardless what game it is. I'm sure it's in the top 10 franchise goals.

Like I said.. they need to be better in BIG games... fine.. Burrows has been better than most.. but going pointless in 6 of 7 SCF games is unacceptable for a 1st liner.

The sedins have been PPG players in the playoffs the last 4 seasons but I'm the most disappointed in them because like Kesler and to an extent your boyfriend (burrows ) they do not come big when it matters. They get most of their points in game 2's and 3's and earlier in the series or in games where we win 6 to 1... or what have you. They don't get many points in game 7s or elimination games.. or when the games get physical and they require push back.

I like to believe that I have a pretty damn good sarcasm detector and IMO he's being 100% serious.

I guess he just likes to over-react?

I don't know... some of the dumbest things I've read on this site (regarding this team) have come from his fingertips onto this screen.. read by my eyes.

Loved 94. Was totally different for me, though, since I was pretty young and couldn't enjoy it as much as 2011. Still remember it pretty vividly....though I always swore Lafayette actually scored to tie it and the refs didn't catch it, and Richter pulled another from behind the line that went unnoticed. I remember being pissed off for a long time after that the refs never reviewed the play.

Saw part of the series while I was visiting in Kitchener, and all the Ontarioites (or Ontarians?), including my family were cheering for the Rangers

And TO fans claim that they only started hating the Canucks with the current roster...

Yeah, I bet those runs were probably more fun for the fans since there seemed to be less pressure and expectations around the team plus the entire league didn't hate them and I'm guessing there were no such thing as a internet troll. Plus that team seemed to have a ton of fan favourites.

Im bringing a sign tomorrow to the game that says fire gillis. Yes I will also be cheering for the Oilers. I am done cheering for this team. The lu situation was a complete sh!t storm from the start. So disappointed with how it has turned out for him and the team. If I was Lu I would make the buy me out and get a double pay cheque like redden and gomez did.

All i'm saying bro. As for being held scoreless in 6 of 7 games, perhaps TT deserves some credit. (there i go pumping tires) I hold the entire team responsible for the loss to Boston, didn't score enough, didn't make enough saves, but most importantly looked disinterested when down 2 goals.

I agree and IMO having more than 1 or 2 lines to rely on to score is something that would greatly benefit this team for once. I hope Kesler can stay healthy and Roy fits in well while Hansen and Raymond continue their strong play. That would really allow this team to have at least 2 legit scoring line and maybe even 3 depending on how AV plays it. Torres IMO would have really completed this forward group when healthy.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows(first line, move Kassian up if the refs disappear in a series)

Booth-Roy-Raymond(these two fit much better with Roy than Kesler and could form a nice scoring line, speed and skill with Booth's size and driving the net)

Higgins-Kesler-Hansen(A dream shutdown line that you can use against other top lines and that can also put the puck in the back of the net, all very good all-around players with speed and grit.)

Torres-Lapierre-Kassian(Perfect 4th crash and bang line that can wear down the other d-men over a series and chip in some offence, you can move Torres or Kassian up due to injuries or if a player or line is struggling, obviously Torres isn't a Canuck so I'm guessing AV plays Weise since he apparently is a good PK'er).

The top 2 lines would be freed up against the other team's bottom 3 lines and can score. Kesler's line doesn't have to do it all for once by shutting down the other team's top guns and providing scoring.

Just my two cents though, I'm sure many of you have your own lines combos. I'm not sure if Booth will even be back for the playoffs though and he might have t start one the 4th line.

Guy was a beast in that series no doubt, but IMO the Canucks didn't adjust enough. He was playing very aggressively and moving the puck side to side with quick shots or one timers was the best way to beat him. Losing Hamhuis and Rome also dismantled the defense, plus the PP was a joke and once again adjustments were not made one it was clear that the Bruins had figured it out.

i would never buy season tickets for any sport. The game is much better in the comfort of your living room drinking 1 dollar drinks and eating 10 cent wings. I go to a few games a year. I am definitely excited about watching the oil play.

lu tweaked something in chicago and was never the same.

the dude is the reason we got to the final. he made a lot of mistakes but made up for all of them until game 3 started.

oh well. it could be worse. we're not the leafs.

Guys.... I know the solution.

Once Lu has played to the point that he can purchase himself out of the remainder of the contract, he does so.

Otherwise, I for one am very happy he is still here.

Jensen is almost 20 and hasn't done poop either, and Kassian is damn near 23

Ship em out and start a youth movement. Bring in as many draft picks as possible!

It's nice to have tickets. I agree that it's great to watch from home as well.

You should start posting in the Oilers thread.

Now wasn't the time to trade him despite what the media thinks. With Lack injured it made little sense. The lockout / shortened season exacerbated the situation. This team is better off having him on the bench in case of injury / letdown than they are moving him for a piddling return.
