Ya Lu is apart of the team.. so essentially he is apart of the "blame" for losing.
But if I was giving out percentages for each player based on how much blame I would put on them for losing.. Lu would be a very low percentage. Goalies are easy to blame.. and tend to always be the scapegoat. No wonder Van is considered a goalie graveyard... best goalie in franchise history.. helps pull this team out of oblivion.. and gets poop on by the fans on a nightly basis. - kneughter
Yup, that's the way it is, it takes a special kind of person to be a goalie/quarterback/pitcher etc.
Yup, exactly why I wanted Gillis to actually go "all-in" this season. Next year will be cap hell. - Nucker101
I think everything was hinged on moving Lu. Without that salary going out there was nothing left to bring anyone in. I doubt they could have even fitted Torres in without trading say Raymond away.

Dude, this guy has scored some of the biggest goals in franchise history. I think he needs to play with someone else and the twins need to learn to play with Kassian( or someone else). Honestly, Hank is the captain and needs to accept this. He above all else knows how valuable Burrows is. It's not like they're splitting him from his brother. - golfingsince
I don't know about that... aside from that big series in St Louis in 09 and the GW against Chicago.. he has been almost invisible. 1 point last year against LA... 1 point in first 5 games against Chicago in 11... and pointless in 6 of 7 games against Boston. He also had no points in the final 2 games against Nashville.

the coach could have done a better job. they weren't scoring so how about splitting up the sedins. how about putting in schneider in game 6 like he did in chicago. how about not playing edler with a broken hand when he couldn't hold a stick. how about playing hodgson more if they needed offense. how about splitting up the sedins now for christ sakes. when danny was out a couple years ago hank and kes tore it up. put roy with daniel. through kes on hanks wing and see what happens. i know we won't score less.
lu will be the #1 by the playoffs by the way. - therealagent
He has to tell the media he's not discussing his future anymore.
I'm starting to think Vantel doesn't know much about the game of hockey... It seems no one can remember that this team COULD NOT (frank)ING SCORE.. the PP was atrocious and half the team was injured. We were going to be the lowest scoring team in post-expansion history to win a cup.. and LUONGO IS THE PROBLEM??!?!?!
The Sedins, Kesler, and Burrows.. the true leaders of this team (or so we are told) need to show up for big games.. big series.. and produce when it matters. Get those chincy, dirty, playoff type goals and do whatever it takes to win. I don't need/expect the Sedins to fight.. but I want them standing up for themselves in a reasonable manner and show some emotion.
This team has the skill to win.. but do they have the determination and the will to do whatever it takes.
This team made it to the finals because of one incredible round by kesler... guys like Torres, Lappy and Higgins getting the job done and because LUONGO kept them in it. - kneughter
Regarding Vantel, I'm just assuming that he's just overreacting due to the TDL which is normal for some fans. He could also be drunk too. I'm hoping that it's all of the above otherwise he's taking the negative thing way too far.

Lu gained more respect today and hopefully the fans, myself included, will finally stop blaming him for the cup final loss.
There is not another athlete who has ever handled this type of situation like Lu has. I hope AV has the balls to give him the start Thursday. Lu deserves it. The fans will support him like crazy and the team would play it's best game of the year. - therealagent
that would be a class move, but pretty risky considering how the Oil have been lighting it up.

I believe that they had the cap space to acquire Torres without losing anyone, but acquiring Clowe would have forced to Gillis to move Raymond, Ballard or Luongo for sure today.

I think you take the negative thing way too far, but I know you don't require an intervention.

OT Boston game two? - 1970vintage
Yes.. he actually had 3 points that night... by far his best game he played during that playoff run. After that game.. I was completely convinced they were winning it all.
I went to game 7... Lu let in that big softie.. but the team just looked beat up and deflated. Turned out most guys had some sort of injury.. but it was sad to watch.

There is this one for starters. - golfingsince
Ya I will give him a tiny break.. because at least when he does have a good game... its a GOOD game. But still... a game 2 OT winner in a series that they ended up losing hardly counts as biggest in history.
I will give him the game 7 OT with Chicago though... probably top 3 for biggest goals in team history.

Yeah, we went out on the street and played street hockey and drank more beer. Came in to find out about the riots, shameful

My stuff is pure sarcasm(I take sarcasm too far if anything). Otherwise, I don't see all the doom and gloom but I'm not exactly loving Gillis/Gilman/AV right now either.

Well either his comments are sarcastic and he is one of the funniest people on here... or he is 100 percent serious and he is one of the least knowledgeable Canucks fans I know

I was downtown with my buddies(about 7 of us), we left to the skyrain with about 5-7 minutes left because people were already getting a little crazy. Probably one of the better decisions I ever made, because knowing a couple of my idiot friends with a little alcohol in them, things could have gotten really stupid and dangerous in a hurry.
Hopefully we all settle down soon, at least the Luongo proposals and rumours will settle down until after the season. I'm still interested to see the line combos once Kesler is back.

The guy had 17 points in 25 games. His two OT goals came playing on different lines. An OT goal in the Stanley Cup finals is huge, regardless what game it is. I'm sure it's in the top 10 franchise goals.

I like to believe that I have a pretty damn good sarcasm detector and IMO he's being 100% serious.
