I love simmonds, one of the most complete players in the league. But at the same time Oilers would want more then just simmonds for a guy like yak and philly probably would want more. - Oilfan19
Well that's the reason the Oilers won't get those big wingers who can do it all because they are tough to find.
Eventually the Oilers will have no choice because bigger teams will continue to bang the skilled players around & come playoff time, the room diminishes a lot out on the ice. |

If I had a nickel for every time you say something stupid I'd be a billionaire. This type of blog makes me puke. You think you know what the (frank) youre talking about but you dont have any information on which you form your opinion. No wonder people LOATHE YOU!
Time to move on Clouts. Youre a terrible blogger, a terrible fan and your holier than thou attitude is getting really old.
(frank) me. - Iggysbff
Dude. Harsh. Clouts maybe a homer, but gosh damnit, he's ENTERTAINING. |

I agree but I dont think its quite time. Value will only go up on the young guys. Next season come TDD if we are pushing hard for a spot then I can see Tambi doing something or even this offseason but were not quite there yet. |

I'm so happy to see the constant bickering and insulting each other isn't limited to the Blackhawks posts.
BTW, it's Clouts' OPINION. Which, BTW, not only is he entitled to whatever opinion he has, but he explains WHY he feels that way. So much for "you have no information...you're a moron...etc. etc."
Lesson for everyone: When you don't agree with someone you can choose to simply move on and not resort to flaming strangers for hours on a thread. Go outside. Meet a girl, kiss her. Experience life. You know, real life.

what would the oilers have to offer up that is better then martin erat that they would part with? - derm10
In the situation the oilers are in right now? Getting Forsberg makes no sense.. It would be prospects and picks. Not sacrificing a roster player for a prospect in the middle of a playoff race. |

Let me guess... We're getting a $100,000 half pipe in the rink. Maybe they will finally paint the plywood walls or hire a local special needs person to be our Joey Moss. |

I agree with this. I have never understood the hemsky hate. Sure hes played a few years with a bum shoulder but he always goes to the dirty places. He needs to learn to shoot but he will always have a place in my heart after round 1 game 6 against the wings. |

Tell us how you really feel? - Oilfan19
Well (frank) he talks outa both sides of his ass.
Talks about how bad they are for not improving the team, but then goes on about Forsberg? He would have taken 2 players out of the current lineup to get and he wont be in the NHL this year and maybe not next? How does that help the team now?
And I said it before. There was not a deal made today that didnt include a player with a NTC that i would have went for. The prices are ridiculous and nothing would have fit the need.
So the Oil go forward with the group we have. Go into summer and see what is available with UFA's and trades when all these teams that added for playoff runs are trying to get back under the cap. That will help the team moving forward. I'm glad Tambo didnt over pay for any of the junk that was available.

I completely agree with you, but Clouts is just here for entertainment and to start convos. No need to curse his family and create voodoo dolls of him. |

Considering the way you want to manage the team, I'd be thrilled with what happened.
You can't build a winner with an entire team of under 25ers. All of your posts seem to reflect some dire need to ship out all of the veterans for unproven youngsters. Edmonton has the youngsters, now they need proven veterans. - dlachine
Bingo. And this was the time to get some. It would have shown the current players you had faith in making the playoffs, and free agents that you were our of the "building fo the future" phase. |

I can honestly say I like how the team is shaping up this year. There are holes but they are working on them. |
