Eager and Hordi
- Lahey

I could see Eager being recalled in time- esp playoffs as Petrell could be sat or Smyth might run out of gas soon as he is getting pretty banged around lately...

we need functional toughness added to a guy that can throw. hordichuk does nothing for us.

there still a place for fighting and always will be, but true scrappers are totally marginalized in todays game. they drop mitts and then go off for five mins.
and for many true heavyweights, thats the last of them ull see for the night.

eagers all around game could be extremely usefull to us if he brought it more than once every ten games. but he doesnt and thats why we got brown, cause he'll provide energy, play phyisical AND throw if need be....but hordichuk and most heayweights are waste of space cause they cant play. AT ALL/

i remember arguing with a sabres fan at the start of the year how much of an impact john scott was gonna have for them this year.
he truly thought scott was the answer to dealing with the bruins and theyd (sabres) win the division. im certain he was over 40 and was thinking about the good ole days......

I will say this I was impressed with McGratton yesterday. I doubt he could bring that every game, but if he did that would be a solid 4th liner.

As a whole though I agree. Don't laugh, but I wonder how former Oiler Colin MacDonald would be this year on a 4th line with Smithson and Brown.

I still think Torres would've been a decent compliment to the 3rd line, but I know there was issues there.

Quick look also tells me Brodziak could be available.

I think this summer we have to take a few swings at younger guys who at the very least could play 4th line, but potetenially more. Bickell, Burmistrov, Skille, Hendricks, Sobtka etc... Look at a few guys like Goc, , Boyle, Mitchell etc. who are more proven who could be dealt for various reasons.

I don't know. Just know he wasn't playing. Have a feeling he is bought out this summer.

Byers was a bit of a goon, but was dealt and I don't think he was close to the NHL.

I have always wondered about Tyrvainen, he is similar in size to Brown though. But was suppose to be an aggitator. I always though he had a good chance to make this team before Petrell for that reason. Although injuries have hurt.

The only other option up front is Abney, but he is in the ECHL I believe and probably can't do much at this point.

You'd have Teubert on the back end, but I doubt he's any better then Peckham/Fistric.

Yeah if you've been watching him at all you would already know your healthy scratch prediction isn't gonna pan out.

Another amazing tennis shot by Yak last night... unbelievable how he can one-time a lob pass. The kids a beauty!

EDIT: and I like how he went after Glenncross after gettting the business on the boards. I this kid.

Does anyone think for a second that the rest of the GM's don't know about Whitney's issues? That is why the Oil weren't going to get anything of value for him right now. With the way the team is playing with Whitney in the lineup I say keep him and if in the end they don't make the playoffs and Whitney doesn't come back you likely have lost a late 3rd round pick. Playoff push vs No playoffs and a 3rd round pick? I know what I would take.

I know Yaks second goal was the 8th and kinda meaningless but man that kids release is ungodly. I replayed it several times just cause its so fast n smooth.

Kid needs to be instructed to shoot more. Has one of the best releases in the game. Let that female dog fly from everywhere and anywhere.

His physicality and passing have surprised me this year. Kinda thought he was more of a pure goal scorer type player.

this

it's so weird when i hear people say "god forbid he walks for nothing"

we're talking about a 3rd or 2nd round pick that odds say will never make any impact in the show and might not ever even play. and if he does, we're looking at least 2 or 3 years.

possible playoffs and a failure is worth way more to me than a middle pick

Hence why I was all for giving ANA's+ up for a rental to give us that extra push if it was there.
