I agree. Same way nobody wants Markov. The guy can't play a full season, ever.. |

me thinks Ales is not what Clouts thinks he is worth........plus he is very soft......skilled but would disappear in the tough going of playoffs........just no demand for this type of player in the post season |

Its not a good idea to assume you have won a game before its even played you will look quite foolish if the flames win tonight - blizzzard

Richard, it's posts like this that are the reason you are my favorite non-Blackhawks writer. I agree 100% and I'm not an Oilers fan. You've already got a fun, very fast team that's hard to play against, but Tambellini should have been looking to move the guys he isn't bringing back for anything that would help in the future, even with a slim shot at making the playoffs on the line. |

Yeah the playoffs are reserved for checkers only. No talent allowed. |

Hemsky was one of the Oilers better players in the 06 run. I agree Clouts over values him like he does everybody but other fanbases also undervalue him. |

Beasts like Patrick Kane. He definitely doesnt bring it in the playoffs like say Marleau or Thornton. |

Every trade by every team isn't layed out in point form so the 28 other GM's in the league can look them over to see if they can offer something better before it goes down. - kingsfirstcup
You are right, every trade isn't laid out in point form for other GM's to try and beat, but if you think GM's don't call other GM's to tell them who they are shopping and ask what players each GM is in turn looking to deal, you're misinformed. That's one of the fundamentals of being a GM.

A. Hemsky not better then Erat but thats been covered
B. Your not the only one who sees the deficiencies in Ryan Whitney's game, people who have been doing this for a long time and are much better than you at it I'm sure have scouted him at some point this year. They see a slow, aging, injury prone defensemen making WAY too much money and they don't wanna part with draft picks/prospects for that rental. If the Caps did offer the Oilers Forsberg they probably wanted something better than the Edmonton scraps. |

Richy, richy, richy, you dumb POS.
First off, Hemsky is absolutely not better than Erat.
Second, EDM's in the playoff race, they're not going to trade roster pieces, and depth defence men for prospects or picks, because they'll need them if they make the playoffs.
Rich, you're like me playing NHL13, I just like trading for 1st rounders and 18YOs. In real life it doesn't work in real life, stop suggesting it. - TheNugeIsHuge
This is my NHL13 game plan. Drafting Drouin is sick. He's 90 overall after 3 seasons.. |

If the Oilers re-sign this guy, they're dumb
So you expect somebody else to trade for him?
This is what's wrong with your 'ideas'. |

Trade deadline day is the most ridiculous day on a ridiculous website. Guys proclaiming winners and losers and zomgz our GM suckzorz! cuz he didn get dose udder guyzz!
Teams playing well and flirting with a playoff spot. Added a depth guy, just like many expected. An upgrade over Belanger. Shut your pie holes and realize this is how things are supposed to be. This deadline was NOT the time for huge deals, as they are not contenders right now. (frank) sakes. |

The Sedins get poop on too (i hate them) but they curiously seem to hit PPG in the playoffs too. Thornton's been better recently. |

You say whitney isn't good for the oil cause he is injury prone... after you vent that washington took a player over an oiler that isn't injury prone. maybe, just maybe, you've been over valuing hemsky just a tad? |

Besides last year the cup winning teams made smaller depth deals. Big deals dont always work. |
