to be honest we really didn't get the benefit of the doubt with our most recent captain either. I don't think there is anyone right now who should get the C. We shall go back to a captain-less ship.

Sorta. Lets not read too far into his comment. He doesn't want to wait 2-4 years to until the re-build is complete. Look at CBUS. They went from zero to hero in less than 12 months. They did it by blowing out Scott Howson as GM. JD and Kekalainen have righted their ship. Vanek wants results sooner than later. Sabres have a shorter gap to close than CBUS. Will there be a management turnover/augmentation in Buffalo in next two months? Its likelier to happen than not. Reserve your judgement

I think vanek worries more about himself than the team. I get it to a point but I don't want a captain who needs to take X amount of games off a month because of constant injuries. I want a captain who is on the ice with the team on a constant basis.
