Roger I understand he didnt wanna give up aby future so at that point why not try and get something for the future maybe clarky and a mid prospect for another first if the future was that important to him this is a shortened season so it doesnt hurt that bad and could get another great prospect in a great draft

I agree. Either another pick for this year, or even one for next when we don't have one. Very few "good" trades though it seems. Most of them are pretty lopsided one way or the other.

Looks like Lou was busy.
On http://www.thefourthperio...deadline/top25/index.html, the Devils were in on a lot of Players that included:

Pominville, Morrow, Clowe, Yandle, Glencross, Stafford, Jagr, Roy, Hemsky, and Bernier.

I'll tell you what my little league coach told me when I was 5 and I started crying when I fell during a game: "Sheeeeeet! That ain't nothin but a lil strawberry....you ain't even going to feel that in morning...but you gonna remember cryin in front of all these people for the rest of yo life....."

The Rangers made a good move today even though others don't agree...........I'm just wondering what Lou was thinking today...we still have a log-jam on defense(8) which means Larsson might sit more which is not good.....and we have about 20 3rd/4th liners now but still nobody to play with Kovy and Lokti on the top line (when Kovy comes back) and nobody to play with Elias and Zajac on the second line. I just wish Lou would of dump some players (maybe Clarkson and a defenseman) and got back some assets (young players/picks).

Yeah cause dumping players to get younger worked out so well for Philly it would have to work here.

Clarkson was never an option to trade.

I don't know what LL could have done today. I don't think trading away any of our younger assets or the few draft picks would have been worth it for what was available at this deadline. I think, as much as it kind of sucks, he made the right move in not doing much. The Rangers are playing unbelievable tonight, but the true test is if it lasts.

Gotta love the fact that Winnipeg is 3rd right now when they should be 9th. I've always hated that rule. One thing I'm looking forward to with realignment. Top 3 from each of the 4 divisions plus wildcards should help make that kind of stuff happen less.

Wow. I can't believe some of what I have read on here. I was a fan of this team back when they stunk so I have been around awhile. But some of the comments...this team is hard to be a fan of, sick of Lou, etc. Are you kidding me? We made the Cup just last year, remember? For crying out loud, trading for the sake of trading is never a good thing. Trading for a purpose is but the right guys have to be available at the right price. Would anyone have been happy trading a first and second for one-dimensional Jason Pominville? Come on man.

I see people seeking Sykora. Even at Sullivan's advanced age he can do something that Sykora no longer could which is skate well. His speed will help and I bet a change of scenery helps him. He still has enough skill to help and they traded nothing to get him. Will it be enough to get in the playoffs? Maybe, maybe not. But at least we did not mortgage the future and we still have a first round pick in a very deep draft. Merrill and Boucher are doing well in Albany already. The future shows promise. So I'm hanging in there.

I'm personally very pumped for next year, not that I've given up on this year, just really looking forward to some of these young guys coming up.

Tomorrow's game is huge (I guess every game at this point is). If we could get a big win against a team we've really struggled against, that could do a lot to boost the team's confidence. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i'd take any of those players besides Stafford. pathetic. we're pathetic. .. and we're underdogs. we'll get it together and make a push.
