Gents, I feel that I am going to get bitter and start saying things I don't want, so I am taking a powder from the blog for a couple of weeks. You guys are the best. - Pete V

You are in a world of "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY" regarding Gabby!
Remember that J.D. is part of the Blue Jackets now. I would trust him more than I would trust TORTORELLA; yes...Torts; who convinced Sather to make this trade. He is the one that wanted him out; and ruined Gabby's game to the point why Gabby even looked lost and disinterested out there under Tortie's MORONIC system this year.
I don't want to hear about the salary cap space needed for the next 2 years of contract renewals that we have to make for those players. It was just yesterday that we picked up Clowe, and the response here is a 50/50 approval. Why did Sather do that, if he was going to trade Gabby the next day? He should have been kept for our BENEFIT until the off season or into next season to see if his trade value would be higher at that point. It's as if SATHER is giving up on this season to benefit TOOTSIE TORTORELLA's ROLE that he only knows & goes by; as his LAST CHANCE that he will ever get here. NO PLAYOFFS = GONE for TORTS & SULLY!
This is the WORST Rangers trade since the mid 1970's when on order by a player at that time, they traded RICK MIDDLETON for KEN HODGE. REMEMBER ESPO??? "GET ME KEN HODGE".
At least Sather didn't trade Kreider, who's development has been held up by TORTS, or Miller. It didn't take Torts too long last night to even bench Miller; and later say "I DON'T TRUST OUR KIDS". How are they going to learn otherwise here?
It is sad to say that the "Rangers West" team is better than the "Rangers East" team. I feel very sorry for Rick Nash; but have to express even more condolences in particular for HANK & CALLY; and our hard core future youth on the roster.
Who's the goal scorer on the 2nd line now?....MARTY......BIRON!!!!!
Then you will wish you still had Gabby here.
Players in any sport can have an off year; especially after coming off a shoulder injury, and then have no training camp, and the coach mess up with them like TORTS did to Gabby, in more than one way.
I hope Gabby scores 10 goals for the BJ's the balance of this season, & leads them to the playoffs. But more important, 50 GOALS next season, and the next, etc... . - RangerSaver
the Rangers traded a 31 year old today for 3 players, the oldest who is 26 years old.
If you actually know the Hodge for Middleton trade, it is absolutely nothing like that.

haha imagine!? I think the brunt of the deadline is over though. We might hear about some smaller ones that were overlooked by the media but nothing big. |

I hope it wasn't me, I have never had a tilt w Pete in the slightest, I respect him as
Much as anyone on here, there was a little tension in the air today in a few of our back & forths, nothing to that extent I thought. |

Brassard is better than Boyle and Clowe and Dorsett will be hard workers, they are deeper after today. |

OK, scratch the #Sabres from that mystery team the #Capitals supposedly have a trade with. Sabres are done. |

I will plead guilty to forming an opinion on something & (most times) stubbornly not see the other side of the coin. I think most people in general are like that. "I'm right, you're wrong, nah nah nah nah nah" lol, I love this place & how we can all have different points of view but we all want the same common goal in the end.
Time will tell if the Clowe & Gabby trades are a positive for the future, I feel they both are, we'll see. |

Miller got sent down, aside from tonight insert Brassard there.
Clowe and Richards suck this year, We are counting on Stepan Hags Nash and Cally to carry the team. I hate how we are built up front. John Moore better pan out. |

When we wanted Nash before last season's deadline, we had to include Kreider &/or J.T. Miller in the trade to meet Howson's needs at that time. We were able to keep them both, but Torts put Kreider in his doghouse this whole season, after playing his first NHL game in the playoffs, and playing them like a 10 year veteran. Plus now after last night's game, OFF 1 BAD MISTAKE, Miller is joining him. You have to play to get experience.
If Tortorella had something that much PERSONAL against Gaborik while he has been here (like he does to many others); then why didn't they put Gabby in the trade for Nash last year or as it was done in the offseason, along with Erixon; but keep the 1st Round pick, plus either Dubinsky or Artie? That would have been a better trade.
For the ones here who liked this trade, or just hated Gabby even more; I can't wait until you put what we received here today in the same names as Pyatt, Boyle, & Asham.
Columbus discovered in America today that there is a worse GM because of Tortie's requests than Howson + Gainey combined! |
