Yeh, sure. We are going to lose 9-0 to a team that actually plays the game of hockey, and not soccer on skates.

Alright, now that I got that out of me, go team!!!!

I liked AA....always defended him....BUT too much money for a guy who did not produce here and takes nights off. Just saying.
- Blueshirts16

If you think that about AA you wait for Brassard.

Brassard only make 3.2 million next year and is a RFA after that. Maybe it's a move that allows the Rangers to buyout Richards.
- tomburton99

While I don't disagree that the Rangers won't buy out Richards, how does shedding salary factor into that? If anything, it hurts to lose Richards in the long term. Like I said, this team is just sucking this season. There are a few bright spots, but overall the issue is Torts.... Wrong guy for such a talent-laden team. Still waiting for Kreider to kick in, and JT Miller as well... Now we've got Zuccharello back up, which makes me wonder what the hell is going on.

How did NYR not get a first out of this? Love the trade for Cbus just for that. Moore is a decent prospect made expendable by Erixon (lol) and Prout. Brassard is categorically NOT. A Torts kinda player. He could be in the dog house upon landing in NYC. He wilted under a similar style with Arnoel as coach. I LOVE Dorse. 15 goals plus triple digit PMs and am awesome team first kinda guy.

I had no clue gabby potted 41 last year?! I think this sends a great message to CBJ locker room. What a great rivalry next year

If we got our first back then Id be fine with this trade. We have a shot of missign the playoffs, CBJ winning the lottery with it (as small as that is) and have Gabby and a #1 goign agaisnt us in our division. Mother (frank)er.

WOW yea, wtf. We got FLEECED boys. This is a SELLERS MARKET AND WE COULDNT SELL a 2012 40 (frank)ING GOAL SCORER. We couldnt get our first back from them?! Like seriously. We suck im pissed.
- mrhattrick27

I agree with you. The deal sucks. Brassard is 25 years old, and has been a severe disappointment. They'll be looking to shed his contract in a year, when Torts plants his *ss firmly in his doghouse.

They are letting John Tortorella dictate the future of this organization, and he's killing it.

Apparently the Rags sent 2 prospects to CBJ in the Gaborik deal as well, D Steven Delisle, 22, and D Blake Parlett. Any Rags fan want to enlighten this CBJ fan about these dudes?

I really hope I'm wrong but I don't love this trade. Ive been against trading Gaborik. We had a bad offense and even though Gaborik had a bad year he was one of the few guys who could bust out at anytime and carry the team offensively. He was always a threat the other team had to plan for. I don't think anyone that they got back really wows me. I know Moore was a 1st rounder, Brassard is still young but he has not fulfilled expectations as of yet and Dorsett is a grinder but hurt and obviously cap relief. I thought at least the Rangers would recoup their 1st rounder for him whenever they traded him or at least offense for offense. I obviously hope for the best and hope this works out really well but Im personally not in love with it right now.

THe point is that it does not matter. From a Rangers standpoint on money alone, this deal needed to happen. They will end up on the right side of things in many areas due to this trade. 1. Free up money to sign their own homegrown guys this summer as well as add a piece or 2 from the outside. 2. Added much needed depth (Asham, Pyatt, and Boyle are horrible.....Kreider and Miller are kids with a ton of upside) 3. AA "should" have been a 2nd line center...never lived up to it and never will

Unfortunantly for him, thats the only team he scores against.

You guys should have traded JT as a show of good faith, since we traded gaborik.

Seems to me that you guys got a pretty decent return. Kind of surprised there are so many complainers over here. Thought I was on the Flyers thread for a second.

Just talked to the Columbus blogger on this site and here's his take:

Brassard is skilled but hasn't come close to fufilling his potential. He has a great shot and if Torts can find the right linemwates he could be a decent complementary offensive piece on one of the top three lines. He's not overly physical so not sure what to expect there.

Moore is a solid, puck moving D with some size that wasn't getting a chance in Columbus. For some reason Richards was stuck giving Aucoin the ice time even though he has been terrible this year. This is a good player who could develop quickly into a solid 2nd pair D.

Dorsett is exactly what Prust was for the Rangers. He is not a small guy but will throw down with anyone. He kills penalties and can chip in some on offense. He's not going to blow you away with his skill but can play a regular shift. It's too bad he is hurt right now because he could really help the Rangers ont he 3rd or 4th lines. He's still under contract I believe for one or two more years at a very affordable rate however.
