7.5 million playing on the 3rd doesn't grow on trees either. Needed to be done.
- tomburton99

He had a poop load of goals for us. I think I woulda let the season play out and see if they can find their game OR get (frank)ign more for Gabby. He was GREAT here and I think we coulda gotten a lot more.

You were ok with a 7.5 million dollar, 3rd line RW? If you were then you could kiss Mcdonagh goodbye, because a team would have signed him to a huge offer sheet.
- tomburton99

And we'd get a poopload of picks for that... Hmm....

a lot of jackets fans are pissed about this trade. They see Gaborik as over-the-hill.
- Nomad91

It makes no sense for them. They are young and need to build a young winner. Why trade for Gabby he doesnt fit your core.

Didn't need a deal. Islanders are loaded with their own talent coming up the system. Hopefully we knock you out of the playoffs so Columbus gets a lottery pick
- the ceez

Islanders have had lottery picks the last 20 years, it's about time they finally have a team. But the Rangers are loaded with young home grown players too, and this trade makes them younger.

You guys will love Dorse, fights, scores occasionally, always gives 100%, more skill than he's given credit for. Brass will make you pull your hair out, but Moore is the wildcard, good size, can skate, if he ever puts it all together he could be a 3/4.

God knows we had to take a chance to get anyone who might be able to score.

And honestly, we couldnt push for AA over Brassard? I woulda said keep your 6th rounder and give me AA instead of Brassard. I think we'd all like that a lot more.

That (frank)ing blows. If he puts it together he CAN be a 3/4. That BLOWS for a ceiling if true.

Brassard only make 3.2 million next year and is a RFA after that. Maybe it's a move that allows the Rangers to buyout Richards.

I liked AA....always defended him....BUT too much money for a guy who did not produce here and takes nights off. Just saying.

No, actually they could and would have gotten a lot less, There are no secerts in the NHL, Gabby wanted out, and everyone knew it. The deal makes tons of sense financially and personnel wise.

Thats my point. We are trading them a star, I can ask for (frank)ign AA over Brassard and it shouldnt be a deal breaker. Cmon.

And I will BET Brassard ends up in stupid Torts dog house pretty quick.

He was good for us, yes. But he would have made impossible to resign 3 kwy Young players. We want the Rangers to keep their young players but also keep the guys making big $$$. Can't have it both ways.

How did NYR not get a first out of this? Love the trade for Cbus just for that. Moore is a decent prospect made expendable by Erixon (lol) and Prout. Brassard is categorically NOT. A Torts kinda player. He could be in the dog house upon landing in NYC. He wilted under a similar style with Arnoel as coach. I LOVE Dorse. 15 goals plus triple digit PMs and am awesome team first kinda guy.
